Sextant Addon in P3DV5

Any one get the old Mark Beaumont sextant gauge to work or use it in P3DV5? I can get it to install as a pop up guage but after that not yet. I know you could get it to save the sighting and then via the USN online celestial tables get a position and then you could somehow map all this to Google Earth.

Reason being I have sorted out the night stars via FlightSim Jewels so you now have credible star patterns to look for an identify as opposed to the default mess in P3D. And of course the old reliable sun and moon.

OR suggest an alternative?

Any thoughts appreciated. This was essential kit for long range flights with no GPS! (I suppose as a fall back you could cheat and track your how your going using the inbuilt P3D map function) - Stearman Driver had a very long set of posts on how to do it all but alas that was all FSX vintage!
