Share Your Favorite Christmas Songs

I enjoy the Carpenter's music so much; mostly Karen's voice. She had such a heavenly voice. So pure and natural. It is so sad she died. But at least her music lives on, and I listen to it often.

I used to work at the mall for a little while, about this time they started playing christmas music ALL DAY EVERYDAY. By christmas time I didn't want to hear another christmast tune lol. But as far as christmas tunes, my favorites are the Vince Guaraldi Trio's christmas tunes from Penuts. Just good classic jazz.

Cheers
TJ
Was going to post these, but you beat me to it! They really are my favorites. We were listening to them just last week when we were putting up our Christmas stuff. Brings back lots of memories from childhood. Love the other stuff too. You just can't be down when listening to the Charlie Brown stuff!

Tom~ I love Charlie Brown and so does my hubby. A few years ago, I bought the whole collection as one of his Christmas presents. We watch them every year :)

I don't have a favorite Christmas song but I do really like those Charlie Brown/Vince Guaraldi tunes that Tom posted.

Is this a marketing ploy for Musak..........

I was shopping yesterday..................

and most of these songs were playing over the loudspeaker.........

Is this a secret marketing thread...............???

Yeah there is always room for Charlie Brown and Snoopy.

Here is another one for the world's greatest pilot :)

"Obnoxious" my arse! Any day is a good day to listen to RATM! :d

"Gotta do what they've told ya..."

I'm glad someone agrees!

The problem I find with most Christmas music is it's overplayed, so after you've done your Christmas shopping and have been out and about enjoying the festivities you've heard most of the old Christmas classics played to death. Thanks to this thread though I've discovered a few Christmas songs I've never heard of before that I don't hear played very often so there are some new Yuletide songs for me to listen to as 2010 comes to a close. ;)

Whether its Bing Crosby's version or any cover, "I'll Be Home For Christmas" always mmakes me tear me up. I know it was originally written during the Second World War with all the overseas troops in mind. But I think it is also so relevant now. Not only for today's Military personnel, but for anyone that is alone or not where they'd like to be for the holidays. Oh, man, they're starting. to

Oddballs gotta stick together. *High five* :d

Also it's mostly so romantic and sweet that you'll get diabetes ten seconds into the song.

I'll just stick to my two songs posted and be as anti-X-Mas as every year.

Two of my favorite Christmas ladies are Linda Eder and Julie Andrews. As for the men, Perry Como, Mr Crosby along with Frank, Dean and Sam.

Annie Lennox, from the defunct Eurythmics group, just released a Christmas Album. I love this rendition of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman."

I'm a big fan of Annie Lennox and the Eurythmics so this will certainly have to be bought.

Same here Chris! I have all of her songs and Eurythmics' uploaded on my iTouch. I just bought her Christmas album on iTunes.

She even sings "Il est né le Divain Enfant" in French. I had no clue she could speak French.
