Shine Program?

Does anyone know where I can download that program that will shine your model for you, glossy, semi gloss or matt finish ?

Thanks
Chris

There are a few programs out there that can adjust the amount of specular shine in a MDL file. One is Ivan Hsu's MDLC. There is also another program called Shine, I think. I prefer to use Martin Wright's MDLmat program to manually adjust the amount of specular shine...much more control going this route.

I can e-mail you a copy of MDLC V117 and V190 (with the Windows interface included). I can also send you a tute I have been working on for using Martin's MDLmat for adjusting specular shine.

Let me know which route you want to go and I will send you the files this evening....got to eat lunch and then head out to the veggie garden and get it ready for planting.

Hey Tim

What you are using sounds great, I had "Shine" but lost it in cyber land a while back.
You can send it to (e-mail address removed by OBIO).

Thanks bud

Hi,

Shine or better shiny is a utilty by Jeff "wuhwuzdat" delahaye and is used together with mdlc117 by Ivan Hsu, Shine can by found here in the SOH download archive, search for shiny.zip by "Wuhwuzdat" and mdlc117 can be found at flightsim.com

I will send you the tute as well...along with one for adding reflective texturing to MDL files. The reflective tute was sent to me by JDTinballs some time back...very easy to understand and follow.

I need to finish off the specular shine tute...I thought I had it done...NOPE...but I do have the tute done for using MDLmat for changing the color and transparency of canopies and glass and such. Won't take much time to finish off the specular tute...but I need to finish today's garden work first...otherwise the MRS. will KILL ME!

Morten made a GUI utility to work with MDLC called "mk_mdlc_v2.zip" - problem is, I can't find it anywhere. I have it, but don't have permission to upload it. I upload it to a private server in just a minute - shoot me a PM if you want the link.
