Shockwave Lights: Shotgun Coverage

Okay, now that I have added about a gazillion AI aircraft to my install...the task of adding Shockwave lights to them all seemed rather daunting. Until I went to the bathroom. Sitting on the throne, flipping through a 2-year old issue of Better House Trailers and Garden Tractors, reading an article about the many uses for broken down cars and spare cinder blocks....I suddenly had one of those "Light Bulb" moments...as Gru would say (Gru from Despicable Me...great movie). Instead of tweaking all of those planes to use Shockwave lights, why not take a copy of the Shockwave nav red, green and white lights, landing lights, beacon and strobe....rename them to the stock names for those lights....drop the renamed Shockwave files back into the effects folder, overwrite the stock lights...BOOOM! Not only would all the AI aircraft now be equipped with Shockwave lights, but so would any and all aircraft in my install that uses the stock lights that I haven't gotten around to tweaking yet.

Take a copy of the Shockwave red navigation light:

FX_Shockwave_navred.fx

and rename it with the stock effect's name:

FX_navred.fx

Pure Genious!

Just wondering if you also use the odometer on your car in place of your broken fuel gauge.....:icon_lol:

Nope. I cut a hole in the top of my gas tank and one in the floor of my van. When the smell of gas goes away, I know I am about out of gas. Simple and effective.

Concerning the Shockwave Lights Shotgun Coverage....worked like a charm! All of my AI now have Shockwave lights!

That's pretty cool, but first I need to get Shockwave lights on all of the planes I fly before I start messing around with the AI planes.

I'm guessing you don't smoke...:icon_lol: Are you referring to nav lights, cockpit lights, and landing lights? Did these lights come with a payware package?
