Lovely work. :)

The P-80 was so much cleaner aerodynamically than the Me 262. Yet did not make use of the swept wing concept, of which Messerschmitt did. Real contrast between the two contemporary designs. :)

The 262 wasn't designed with swept wings originally, but decisions about engines forced that on the design to keep the weight of them balanced.

Thanks guys! I took a long break from painting Shooting Stars, but decided to revisit them by doing the prototypes and pre-production ones first. There are still a lot of them out there to paint as well which should keep me busy for a bit. And I'm still looking for reference material on ones that I haven't done yet.

Working on some of the "Project Comet" ones at the moment.

Work in progress P-80A-1-LO, c/n 1192, 44-85160 / PN-160, "Pride Of The Lone Star" Project Comet 1946.

Tried a few ideas with the specs that apparently aren't panning out. Once I get those straightened out, it should be good to go. Darn blue is too light. It should match the pilot's helmet.
