Short Stirling

Anybody out there know or know if there is a model of a Short Sterling for CFS2? Got one in CFS3 and love to have one as a target for my German Night Fighters. Thanks.

Thicko did a good model of a Mk.I.
Sopwith did an update of Thicko's model to a B.MkIV, and several repaints (including one to the AlphaSim model).
Ted Cook did an FS9 model which was converted to CFS2 by Buddha13.
There are several other CFS2 files at Simviation, but the ones above are all here (or used to be - sadly I cannot find Buddha13's conversion of Ted's model in the current library).

It does help to spell the name correctly though - STIRLING

This is a conversion of Ted Cook's Short Stirling for CFS2.

The file contains converted mdl, working airfile, converted textures, new improved dp. The panel is only a basic one but it will let you fly.

Because of the way the keys commands are set up, the bomb doors are tagged with the cargo door tag and open with <SHIFT> + E then 2 for FS9.This command does not exist in CFS2 so therefore they will not open.

The grey bomb doors are down to your video card settings in FS9.

Hi KD. Do you have a specific Bristol Hercules sound pack? All I have found in the CFS2 sounds library is a set for a Beau-ighter. The config file could be modified to go from 3 to 4 engines, but I was curious if there was already an existing pack.

Too bad the bomb bay doors don't work. It is what it is. I know they're probably not much calls for British heavy bombers in CFS2 so I just accepted it. I installed it as an AI aircraft anyway like the other British heavy bombers I have in my European install.
And it suits me fine. Thanks for the info.

Hi Browncoat & Steven,

Gary Jones did a four engine set for FS2004/FSX. I can't remember from where I obtained them, but as there are no restrictions, I'll upload them here.

Perhaps one our Gmax wizards might feel inclined to get the bomb doors working.
