Uninstall the An-2 and then delete your XML addition. Then reinstall and fly... With a fresh install of P3D 3.5 you may not need it..... I did not. The logs are under CP/Admin Tools.

Thanks for your help. Have no logs on that location...and wonder where xml.dll is located. Got 2 files with same name but diferent contente as told in previous post. And already done what you suggest to no avail. Remember it was quite difficult to install An-2 in previously instalation of P3D. If I delete ALL xml.dll files will P3D make a new one?

will keep trying, love this ugly bird...

Check raports of problems, I dont know how it looks in W10, maybe like this: https://www.digitalmastersmag.com/magazine/tip-of-the-day-how-to-find-crash-logs-on-windows-10/ .
Windows 10 isnt good for FSX or P3D according me. I stay on Windows 7 64 bits till the end of support and this addon of SW works fine. It could be a problem other addon or Your Windows.

If You cant find CTD raport You can use very simply tool : App Crash View : http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html

Hmmm I went to buy it and it said 404 error.

edit: Nevermind it worked sweet!!! Wooooo!

One of the fugliest planes in my hangar... and a fugly paint to go with it (the paint is amazing actually, but it's fugly and dirty ha!)

Great sounds!

It's a super fun aircraft. It won't win any beauty contests but it sure has short and rough field capabilities. An absolute blast to fly.

Yes, I'm having a rough time with the metric gauges, it's not too bad, just figuring out where things are.

One major issue I'm having is the DG - it doesn't seem to work at all. The mag compass and the DG aren't agreeing. And the knob under the DG doesn't do anything. I thought I might have to set it to the mag compass every so often but it doesn't work.

And steering - I have rudder pedals but this thing is impossible to turn in a small radius. Any tips?

edit: nevermind about the DG - found the switch for that.... but still have taxiing issues. I ensured the pneumatic valve is open (or should it be closed?)

Hey Ryan, there is an FDE v2.3 in the forums for download (top section of the AN-2 general forum) that is supposed to help that but I stayed with the original and just changed the tailwheel contact to that of interconnected steering if I remember right.

edit: Yep just changed the first contact point from 180 to 45

Alright thanks... I found that forum edit as well

So then I followed a guide I found on their site for approach speeds and settings, seemed ok, but then when I landed (with idle throttle), this happened hahahaha! What did I do wrong?

Wow she's running hot lol. This one is like the TDuke, I always open those oil cooler doors and the cowls a bit. She will call you out in a hurry with the engine.

She will overheat fast! I open the cowl flaps fully before landing. The oil doors stay fully open all the time for me. She's a delightful plane! I fly her in FSE in Samoa and the Seychelles. She's great on those little island strips.

She's very difficult to turn (as she is in real life). Differential braking and a blast of throttle will get her moving in the right direction.

Ok thanks both for the tip... yeah I had been using cowl flaps but I think for descent I closed them, and then did not open them again. What temp will cause a fire? I think the manual said in climb 180-200 C is ok, but it didn't really say what temp limit is? It's possible I missed it - this plane is really neat, I've been going through the manual mostly at random.

I try to keep the temps under 200-210. Beyond that and they climb fast.

The guide YoYo linked is a good one. Get v.2.3. Alexander made some significant improvements.

Finnaly solved this problema of not beeing able to instal and use An-2 in P3D v3. Previously had it installed and everything ok. Had to reinstall P3D, and no more An-2...everytime I tried it CTD, have to shutdown P3D. Tried everythin and this was quite puzzling to me, not able to understand why. Last night, tried to find a solution in the internet and found this on a A2A fórum and I quote:

"P3DV2/3 sometimes wont install the required simconnect files. No worries though as they are provided by Lockheed in the following directory;
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib (replacing 2 with 3 if using P3DV3)."

Bingo! Simconnect was not installed. Everything is fine now and I'm good with this ugly big plane.
Hope this info may be of use to someone with same or similar problem...

I have been searching for something else to scratch my itch for low and slow over the Orbx World. ATM however, after trying several options I am back in my lovely Annushka, just out of Port Heiden, still scud running the Aleutians at 300M. There is something mesmerizing about watching the salt marshes, unravel at 160Kph, about 1000' below. Orbx has done such an amazing job of simulating this (and other) parts of the world.... I can see the reeds waving in the salty air. There is salt drying in cold wet clumps and I am warm and snug in my old girl. I can smell the oil burning, watch it spray out of the exhaust, and feel the warm cracked leather around me. Even the plaid seat cushions are just the right mix of dirt and wear. The radio active night lighting leaves a warm glow in all the wrong places ;).

Yesterday, I flew an NDB approach (well below minimums, shhh don't tell the FAA DSO) with the RA screaming I ought to go around. I was finally able to see runway lights at 50M and cut the throttle and let her drop in. For just an instant I knew what those Aeroflot pilots flying the Kamchatka felt when the "party" needed something sent out forthwith.

I have searched high and low, but for all the times I want to leave the FLs and relax at 300M, enjoying the splendor of complete immersion- the An-2 and Orbx World suffice. I look forward to spending time in the Dak after this journey, but methinks I shall tarry a while...

YoYo- all this started with SP-AOO, but I have to confess, SP-AMN tugs at my heart strings as well. You have done such a marvelous job capturing the essence of a working babushka!
