• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Dear all

Some comments in recent threads have caused offence to individuals.

Surely this is unacceptable to all of us?

FS is a game, a hobby, perhaps a passion?

The world is full of different people. 30% of the people that I know are great. 60% of the people that I know are OK. 5% of the people that I know are wierd. 5% of the people that I know were born without a decent brain or a heart that has any compassion.

Sadly, that is the real world today.

Perhaps the same percentages visit this site?

SOH is (IMHO) the best and most civil and most intelligent FS forum site around. A huge number of people that frequent this site are real enthusiasts of FS and are really nice people.

Most of the threads here show a genuine interest in FS and illustrate the true depth of knowledge that the posters have. I will repeat that. Most of the threads here show a genuine interest in FS and illustrate the true depth of knowledge that the posters have.

We all get tired. We all get irritable. We all have bad days.

But I hate the thought that 'good people' are leaving this site.

For my part, I would ask you to stay.

imagine some years from now on some other forum someone will ask "hey remember that one forum we used to go to where they had this great community of modelers and painters and discussions... sim-outhouse er something I think it was called...whatever happened to that?"

and the answer will be "well - there was this emoticon - something about a bull etc..."

its just so rediculous

Great words Paulb.

I consider myself a "taker" on this forum. By that I mean I take great advice and support from the experts here to get the best out of my flightsimming hobby. There are lots of givers here too including the team that run the forum and I am saddened by the recent events - "biting the hand that feeds" springs to mind.

I suspect that the membership here has more takers than givers as a general term, so I would like to congratulate 'everyone' who has made an input into this forum in one way or another as it is the sum of the parts that has made it what it is today and allows people like me to continue taking great advice and news as much as I do.

May 2009 bring peace to our Sim-outhouse world and lets all remember what this is about - FUN and PASSION.

Oh, and please, please please let it go beyond 60 days, well beyond :ernae:
I will be seeing double later, so have a fantastic start to the New Year everyone.
