For now these are the features we confirm to have in the model.....And we hope to have our Harrier under the Xmas tree!!

- Fully animated, highly detailed and FPS friend external model
- Highly detailed and cfully animated internal 3D model
- Most of systems modeled and working as in real plane
- Italian, Spanish, and USA liveries

- VSTOL capability modeled with:
(**) LIDS (Lift Improuvment Device System)
(**) Water injection control, wet/dry RR 408 engine, Ground effect; it uses an improved version of outstanding Rob Barendregt VTOL gauge togheter with a SSW XML interface dynamic library.
- Flap/nozzle scheduled control
All togheter make a smooth and real "feel" transition between nozzle sustained and conventional flight.
- (**) SAAHS (stability and attitude holding system) greatly improves harrier manouverability and prevent "departure"
- HUD display
- MFCD,UFP,ODU display with a wide subset of real plane functions:
VRST (VTOL, STOL, CRUISE)
HUD head up display
ENG engine state
EHSI
- INS inertial nav system
- AG/AA radar
AG with with RBGN, MAP and GMT map modes (ground/sea mouving target)
AA with search, STT (Single target track), attack mode
- (**) Weapon loading and drop/launch in single and multiplayer environment.

(**) SSW HARRIER unique feature so far

Hope you will Enjoy!!

Wow! looking so forward to this one. Is there a gator carrier available anymore? I remember AS had one, but it went bye-bye to the best of my searching. Again kudos, it looks fantastic.

Matt

Hi Matt, included in SSW AV8B+ package there will be the CVS Italian Navy aircraft carrier "Garibaldi" (551) from where you will be able to test your skills with carrier ops. In the package we will also include the airport scenery of Grottaglie (LIBG),homebase of Italian Navy "Gruppo Aeromobili" (GRUPAER),owners of italian Harriers. Both carrier and scenery are made by SSW team.
Stay tuned!

Really looking good ... Freeware or payware ?? ...I'm thinking payware :)

Hi conork, this bird will be payware, and the cost will be, like the F-104 Starfighter, 20€.
The package will include,as I mentioned above,an airport scenery,a carrier, and fully complete flight manuals, tactical manuals (2) and checklists.

Looks mighty fine to me...most of our guys are into them pop fart planes but I am in to the jets big time. Can't wait for the release :applause:..Mike

Sounds great .. Thanks for the reply .. I will most Likely buy this :D ...I love harriers. :)

This wonderful project is going forward very fast!
I'm sure very soon i'll seat inside the VC of a perfect Harrier II+!!!
Keep on going, congrats

Is the canopy broken ? Is it an animation linked to the ejection system ?

No,it's not broken,it has just the textures to refine (the main canopy has to get more glossy, the materials are not the final ones). For now is not on the "do list" the animation for the ejection seat, but is not completely to exclude.

Oh ok, I see...
For a short moment, I thought you had modelled this white explosive band on the canopy. I thought "Wow, they are really into the details..." :icon_lol:
However, I think I said it before, but I'm really curious to see the final model. I'm looking for a good Harrier since ages, one that would REALLY fly realistically, no matter what limitations FSX has. It seems your Harrier will have some interesting flight model so I'm keeping an eye on it.
The FPS friendly external model doesn't sound too good to my hears though :/ But I understand your motivations, already explained for the F-104.

Daube...extend your short moment.....the "bang pipe" is modeled in the canopy..
I'm not the right person to explain how this bird flies, because you can not ask to the greengrocer how fresh is his fruit. But I can surely say that we are spending a lot of time to give you the best Harrier we can do..As you said,we have a "low impact performance" policy, but we are trying to do our best to create a nice bird to see and a great plane to fly.
I know, there is another little point to consider..the Harrier is slightly ugly by itself....but this is another story..
Stay tuned

/ Ale

Sometimes, ugly can mean beautifull, especially for airplanes.
You're talking to somebody how is in love with the F-117 :D

LOL, in Italy we say: "Ogni scarrafone è bell a mamm' soa", that literally means: every ugly bug is beautiful at his mother's eyes!!! :icon_lol:
Ok, i'm in love with the Harrier, and i'm a beta tester, but I can declare that this is the best model of Harrier that has ever flown in FSX skies.
Regards

It may be perhaps a little off topic, but are there any informations about the F-104G modell mentioned in the past?
