Hi all,
Here you can find a little update of our work in progress (to visit the page you have to be registered freely at our website)

Now,talking about time and tests,we are testing the final release,if all is ok,very soon the FSX BASIC version will be out.

What means "basic"?

It means this:

SSW Tornado will be released in two different versions for both FSX/SE/P3D 2.x, below is a a comparative table of the different features:

TORNADO IDS, ECR GR-1 TERRAIN

RADAR
GROUND MAPPING

About release dates:

  1. BASIC VERSION FOR FSX ACC ACK/SE: will be released in next days;
  2. BASIC VERSION FOR P3D 2.5: will be released in late January 2016;
  3. ADVANCED VERSION FOR FSX/SE: wil be released late February 2016;
  4. ADVANCED VERSION FOR P3D 2.5: will be released late February 2016;

About licensing:

An unique purchase key for all the platforms,so if you purchase for FSX,your key is ok also for P3D (on request).

BASIC/ADVANCED: If you purchase the basic version,and after you want to upgrade to advanced,you will pay only the difference between the licenses.

So,let's keep finger crossed for today's "last fence" checks.

Bye,
Alessandro / SSW team

Hi Alessandro!

B61? Like it ;)! Do You have to plan do a full animation?

I know ACMI from Your F-84 and was ok, so finally the model will cooperate with TacPack and ACMI togheter?

Any info about performance and FPS too? I had sad experiences with FPS of JF Tornado.

Hi YoYo,
Yes,the model will have the VACMI/TacPack cooperating;
For the B61,is in the "do list",like many other features and weapons,this is a starting point,many issues will be implemented in the nearby future;
Performance: Assuming this is a very complex platform (think about you will have a radar/terrain following working as real,a movig map NOT displaying the FSX map but a similar map of the real one,for now covering Italy,Germany and UK,and also for the first basic release you will have the full capability for automated navigation and drop of ordnance,a HUD that looks and works like the real one,ecc) the framerate on my medium performance laptop is 30 fps steady. The only problem (but is FSX related) is the mousedrop (4/5 frames when the cursor is in sight). Other team members,like beta testers with desktop hardware, did not notice any drop or stutter.
For the "visual" side,on the next months there will be,as usual,some free liveries packages.
For now,the release will have:
5 IDS "nato camouflage",3 IDS monogrey camo,1 desertic (Locusta '90) and 1 special colour of Italian Air force;
2 IDS for Germany Air Force (1 Norm 83 and 1 early MFG)
3 GR1, 2 early camouflage and 1 desertic (Granby '90);
1 ECR monogrey (Italian Air Force).
Also note that the external models are different each other: IDS/GR1/ECR have their external features displayed correctly.
A paintkit will be availabie before the end of January,more or less with the next release.
Cheers,
Ale

That looks very good! Perhaps you should post at the P3D forum too. Will it also work in V3?

Yes,when the model will be out for P3D 2.5 suerly i will write over there.

For now V3 is in evolution,systems that will work in 3.1 will,probably,not work in 3.2.

Due to it's complexity,our decision was to wait a stabile version of P3D3.X family.

By the way,if you want to take a look to our "tablet" feature,it will be available in-sim and also remote,you should use it both ways.
It contains an overview of systems,checkist,faq,key mappings,ecc.
The feature is in "work in progress" but gives you a nice idea of what you can expect from the add-on.
