I wonder if anyone who has this model has modified the vc panel? Several of the gauges are non-functional and low res and with those fixed it would be a handsome model.

Cessna 140 Panel...

Here you are Roger...As you can see in my panel cfg, I have used a lot of different gauges from various airplanes that I have installed. RD

Thanks. I tried to make the panel look like a real world 140 that I have flown several hours over the last few years.

RD, I wonder if you could send me your revised panel texture in the base texture folder? If so I'll pm you my e-mail address. As it is I'm seeing your new gauges over my default panel.

Thanks,

Roger.

Sure. :encouragement: P.M. me with your e-mail address and I'll send it to you.

I owned a '46 C140 and all those gauges would have been forward of the CG datum line. It already had axle extensions to alleviate its nose heavyness.

I am attaching a zip of my panel texture should anyone like a copy. I'm also attaching a photo taken of the real airplane's panel. As you can see I didn't attempt to do the center part in a metallic finish. Also just for fun, I am attaching a photo of the airplane. It was taken by the owner of the airplane from his Maule. His son is flying along with me in the 140.

Still by today a very elegant plane Thanks for the panel texture Roland

You are welcome :encouragement: . There's an extended bitmap version and a DDS version included. I have both the FS9 and FSX version. I think :dizzy:you use the DDS version in the FSX model. Of course you can do what I did. I have both versions loaded in my FSX version and let the model decide:running: which texture file it wants to use.

RD

Hi RD,

Any chance you can point me to some of the gauges you used. I've got all the FsX default gauges but I think some of them must be Fs9.

Haven't fooled with the little 140 in quite some time. But, your photo brought back memories of creating the panel I would have wanted in a 140, nothing like a real aircraft. But it was fun. I just couldn't get used to the big gap between the top of the dash and the windshield rubber...............I kept imagining the wind in my face....

Here's a shot of my panel.
