Is buying into their membership worth it? How much faster are the d/l's for the paying member. As a non paying visitor it is a real pain, so slow and only one (but sometimes two) d/l's at a time. And tonight all I get when trying to d/l is a little pop up box requesting I log in. No d/l.
Please no rants.
Just the facts boys, just gimme the the facts. lol

I've been downloading from there for years as a non-member, and on the very very odd occasion the servers have been too busy and I've gone back later. Yes by all means support them, I've donated in the past, which is another option, as it is a grand ol' site.

But why not do something else? fly/paint/tweak/search/meditate/tea/coffee etc etc whilst waiting, on the 30kbs for non-members that's 1Mb in 35 secs. What are most CFS2 ac, 1 to 3mbs?, so that's 35secs to 1 min 45secs (odd), and you can do two at the same time.:wiggle:

Without the membership you can download as many as two files at a time at the slow speed. The only time I ever get a popup is when I try to download more than two at a time, but I download all my files in the mornings. It may be more congested later on. I am a cheapskate so I say you don't have to pay. Of course, if you intend to download something like world-wide mesh, I suggest paying up.
 
Great site for downloads, especially older ones. I have used the free membership for years with no (not that slow) download problems.:wavey:
 
I prefer SOH to simviation, but simviation does have some very fine jewels that you would be hard pressed to find else where.
 
Money to Simviation??? NO!!

I am a member of Simviation, I find that sometimes when looking through the downloads I seem to run out of time or something... when I try to download I am not signed in anymore and I get the slower downloads. My suggestion, if you want to send money to anyone send it to the guys in the Basement, SOH. They are a better bunch of guys anyway.
