SimWorks Studios F-4B Phantom II

Something with the rudder/noseweheel. Rudder at least looks aligned, but the nose wheel seems to randomly turn to one side. For me, I can get the problem to occur if I depress the brake pedals (Saitek pedals - using Saitek software, not FSUIPC here), hard, or go to full deflection on the rudder (either direction), straighten out, and then try to taxi.

This is also evident on landing, where at landing speed the jet seems like it is on ice. All is well until I use any rudder, or heaven forbid, touch the brakes... I can actually get it to spin 180 degrees without much effort. Very much a handful on landing, as unexpected in an aircraft with high gross weight (for a jet fighter), and a wide landing gear track.

Bill

Ah ha, it's the brakes! The right brake, specifically! I had a similar issue a few weeks ago, but it went away. See if your right brake pedal (in game) seems to be slow to depress when you take your foot off. I think that may be the problem.

That may be it. It does seem a little "sluggish" in release.

unfortunately I can't test more until Friday. Heading into the "Friendly Skies" in the AM (very early AM),

thanks
Bill

I three have also experienced this.

Also have seen some very strange Tackpack issues - will not drop certain ordinance, no matter what I try. Also - when flying along, straight and level with AFCS engaged & Altitude selected, I get sudden role oscillations - sometimes so bad the AFCS disconnects. Below 5K feet, that can be a little dicey to say the least...

Don't know if this is just me, an issue with Tackpack, or with the plane.

Bill

Some weapons, such as the Mk.77 are not yet available in TacPack. Right now usable are the Mk.82 (all), Mk.83, rockets, A/A missiles and guns.

I've had such a problem with my Saitek Pedals, but will check the control logic on the F-4 in case there is a bug and I missed it.

I too have experienced the same issues with landing ^ It wants to go into a 180 spin and like you said "like its on ice". I use a Logitech Extreme 3D pro stick.

I am having fun with this aircraft... very atmospheric.

I haven't been able to register on your forum yet... what text are you supposed to put in the fields F4 Phantom and CV-41 USS Midway. It keeps saying I got it wrong.

VF-151 Paint

Sure would like a paint of this VF-151 USS Coral Sea from anyone that has the Simworks studio version. I think they have the paint kit available.
I know VF-151 was done before but not with the Coral Seal on the fuselage.

It's a simple enough scheme. When a paint kit becomes available (I've been involved for many months and there isn't one yet) I'm sure it could be made by someone since there will be a Coral Sea carrier.

Wipeout

Since I last made comments here about the plane going into a skid when landing, discover any solutions. I have made my concern knows on their forum and most folks there haven't had this issue yet
some here have. I disconnected my joystick and experienced same issue. Like a hog on ice. NWS is not incorporated yet but coming in future release.
When I land the Virtavia (freeware) F4, it lands and stops in a straight line with no swerving. I've even tried to assimulate a take off run and almost halfway down runway, tap the trigger (brakes)
on my stick and notice the speed is slowly reduced, then at about 80 knots, squeeze the brakes, and it will veer to the right and do a 180, like it blew a tire.

Just checking here to see if anyone who also had this issue found a solution.

As an aside, I notice that the stock F-18 has same brake issues and have been on other forums where they share same issue.

Video here is of a F18 that skids as it blew a tire but this illustrated what kind of landing the stock F-18 (FSX) does, SMW same thing.

Ground Loop

Here is a video of an F-18 (FSX) in a ground loop. This illustrates the ground looping I experience in the SWS F4B

You're comparing what is basically an FS9 FDE with a totally FSXA-native new one. Please be a little patient with the developers.

One my own initiative, I think I may of found the solution. I made this known to Alex as well on his forum.
What I did was change the flight model settings from easy to realistic and ticked the auto rudder and for now that seems to work.
To quote Alex: WOW!!! I was just looking for videos that illustrated what is known as the ground looping effect to get my message across.
I wasn't going for the apples to oranges comparison.
