SimWorks Studios F-4B Phantom II

I want to add the Simworks Phantom to the list of compatible aircraft with VLSO. Has anyone done this, and if so, what are the settings I need to input? Thanks in advance. NC:encouragement:

Thanks Ian;)

That particular paint (VMFA 531) and the 20% 4th July discount (in equal numbers) was the only reason I coughed up. Coral Sea was an incentive but looking at her first hand.. there's obviously more work to be done. I didn't really want a B or N Phantom (K/M rules!!!):jump:
This is heavy on my i5 2500K.. more so than the MV J/S (difficult to believe I know). Going to an outside view.. the textures aren't 'there' instantly and oddly.. the canopy is last to load. Going back inside, I'm greeted with an untextured cockpit mit unicorns horn coming from the projector (I get this with the Flying Stations Bucc too). A couple of seconds later.. it all comes back. It is still beta so I'm hopeful a general tidy up at release#1 will result in better performance. I hope that SWS don't fiddle with the bump maps. Less is more as far as I'm concerned. The MV Phantoms look like they were assembled by Harland and Wolf rather than McDonnell:very_drunk:

Use these AoA settings for vLSO:
Too slow: 13
Too fast: 10.2

Edit:
Dave, the long loading times are because of the amount of textures used. While the total texture megabytes of a livery are lower than some of the other detailed aircraft, the overall detail is at the absolute limit of what FSX can display, bearing in mind it is a 10 year old engine now. We are constantly trying to improve performance though.

What I would like to see is the "unicorn" effect you mentioned. If possible, e-mail me a screenshot of it along with your PC specifications at support(at)simworksstudios.com.

Looks like adding aircraft to VLSO is more difficult than just adding the above values. There is more information needed I will have to ferret out.

Will need to spend a lot more time on this. Not easy to accomplish as I had hoped:banghead: NC

New external models in production for this aircraft - very much WIP at the moment.
Here's just a flavour of them.

Looking Brilliant, it really show's its line well there, not so strange with recent work with my art another Phantom is in the works, touched very little of FS other than a little work.

We are slowly getting there. The new version is going to be a huge leap for the phantom as most quirks are being ironed out. Carrier statics may make it in as well.

Gents, we've started a poll on our Facebook page regarding the carriers and would like to know what you think.

We have started testing some code that allows you to spawn static aircraft on our AI carriers, as well as control the elevators, toggle the lighting and so on. We would like you to let us know to what extent would you be interested in customising the carriers, or if you prefer presets like these offered with Javier's Nimitz class carriers.

Please take a few seconds to answer here: https://www.facebook.com/SimWorksStudios/

Is there a way to start a poll here too, mid-topic?

I had a problem with the poll........it didn't have "all of the above" as a choice :drunk:

Seriously though, it would be nice to have similar options as AI Carriers AND the ability to customize the parking spaces.

My dream is for AI aircraft to spawn from a carrier....maybe one day :)
