Single-engine touring plane?

Hello.

Can you please recommend to me some good single-engine touring planes. I already got Carenados C182RG and Piper Cherokee but I'd like to have something faster. I don't mind if there is somekind of AP and GPS.

Thanks.

Hi Anatolpopov,:wavey:

Have you tried Tim "Piglet" Conrads Meyers 200D? You can find it on flightsim.com. It set several speed records for its class and was faster than the Mooney M20J 201 at the time. Also try the Carenado Beech F33A, possibly with some power increases. Though you cant beat freeware!:wiggle:

Carenados Saratoga is my favourite for that kind of flying and it's one of their very best planes.

Oh yes, I have Meyers 200D. Its nice :salute:

Is there something like Lancair or ultralight WT-9? Sport look would be cool.

EDIT. I just saw Lionhearts topic. WT9 look so nice

Don't forget Lionheart's Tailwind. Put some music on the Ipod and go sightseeing to your hearts content.

If I were to pick a GA piston plane for touring, with options for aerobatics, and good IFR cross country ability, the versitile RealAir's SF-260 is always a good one. Tho it probably isnt much faster than the 182RG. It is pretty comparible to a Piper Comanche I think for performance numbers. If you want somthing really fast and enjoy turbines, Lionheart's Epic Dynasty and Victory will get you where you need to go,they have good range and good short field takeoff and landing ability. You might try a warbird, to get around fast tho they can be a challenge in instrument conditions and not always the easiest landing.

Cheers

heh. I'm gonna suggest the obvious. Its slow but extremely comfortable to fly and its at a remarkably low price.. Thats Lionhearts Pasped.

Don't forget the Eaglesoft Cirrus models. Great for touring. From the bottom end SR20 to the SR22G2 Turbo.

the Carenado Mooney as also a favorite of mine.

Lionheart's Viking another.

I also agree with RealAir's SF260.

For ultralight class, how about the Aerosoft Diskus (however its spelled) motor-glider with auto-stow-away engine pod. One sleek glider.

I have to agree with Lionheart's Bellanca Vikings... Fast and easy to fly.

Some others to consider are:

Carenado's C-206 or Mooney
FSD's V-35 Bonanza or Porter
Piglet's Meyers 200D

and if you like low n' slow, try...

Piglet's Waco or Grumman AA-5B
Ant's Tiger Moth

Christen Eagle by Irissimulations and of course another vote for the superb real air SF260
Ultralights: nobody mention flight-replicas freeware Mini-Max

Here are a couple suggestions. . .the Premier Aircraft Design CTW (Float or Fixed Gear) Ultralight or the Buecker 131B.

Just looking through my hanger...

If I want to go touring or cross country in a fast single engine non-miltary aircraft it's going to be one of these three:

Flight1's Pilatus PC-12
Eaglesoft's Columbia 400 Turbo
Aerosoft's Hughes H1B

But if being relaxed when you get to your destination is part of the deal, the Hughes might not be a good choice. No matter how laid back the flight is the landing will always get your attention. :)
