Skycrane on final

Here's some new pics of the Skycrane in it's new textures. Though the old ones were ok, we decided to make it better...

Hope you like them.

That looks amazing. Have been around the real ones on several helitack firefighting seasons. Looking forward to this big boy for certain!

Mike :applause:

Elvis is in the building? :d

I got to see one of these fighting a fire many years ago. It was impressive.

This rotorhead is excited. LOL :jump:

It's not been coded yet... but, given that it's way less than the Huey is in terms of both polys and of textures, it should be pretty darned good but, who can tell with all the effects for the water going on... We'll see...

Thanks for the compliments. Our team always likes to hear those...

I gotta say, for something THAT fugly, its looking REALLY nice! Great job on both the models and textures. (And no, im NOT complamenting my own work, this was done by other members of the team :kilroy:)

Some of the finest modelling and texturing I've seen to date! I wouldn't normally be too interested in the Skycrane but with that kind of quality it'll be hard to resist.

That is amazing. Those textures are beautiful. Room has already been made in my hangar for this one. Nice work to all involved.

crazykolin,

I have a question, though I know the answer is prolly "NO".

Will that CC pod on the CH-54 version through the "Hoist" command mode in kinda reverse animation be allowed to be placed on the ground and have the CH-54 fly off and leave the CC pod on the ground, even if the CH-54 has to go straight up a couple thousand feet with an invisible teather before it disappears from view?

Saw one of these babies at my local airport KBHM, many, many years ago at an open house event (attached to the 106 th. Aviation Battallion, I think) do a "tactical climb"... don't know the real name for that manuever... with a CC pod attached, straight up to approx. 5,000 ft. Man that was impressive ! :applause:

What sort of sling loads will come with this lady?
Perhaps a busted Chinook, Huey, a couple artillery pieces ?:ernae:
