Now that Christmas is past for another year, I 've been able to put some time in on my STG textures for the FS9 WBS P-51. It's out of the war paint shop and has been rolled into the ALPHA texture shop. Hopefully I'll be able to spend some more time tomorrow and apply some "WAX ON, WAX OFF".

Anyway, here she is minus the "shine"

Awesome. I really need to get that B and C models. All I have is the WOP version, with some tweaked Merlin sounds.
 
Thanks very much, guys. I hope to be able to finish it over the next weekend and upload it here.

Cees, I have to agree with you 100%. Becasue I have purchased and flown all of the payware B/C models in FS9, I can say that IMO the WBS P-51 is overall one of, if not the finest FS9 warbird available. There's something about it that "just looks right." And once you learn to fly it it's one of the best flying as well, while at the same time keeping the pilot honest in managing his aircraft.

This is NOT a slam against any of the other well done P-51B/C models out there. They stand up very well on their own merits, including the Donationware models from the SOH which I gladly purchased and are now free. I also purchased all of the SU P-51s. I highly recommend any of these models to anyone who does not want to lay down the $ for the WBS bird. The SU models of the A-36, P-51 and P-51A are still the only games in town and worth the purchase.

I knew there was a reason why I continue to put up with those 60 repaints and over 2 Gb in HD space. :applause:

well, my FSX WBS B model went transparant all of a sudden, so no more repaints from me for now...WBS have gone awfully quiet recently, but I still keep my fingers crossed.
Anyway, the paint is looking good, Duckie!

WOW! Jankees, I'm very sorry to learn of yours and others problems. I just read the epic thread over at the FSX forum and am amazed. The frustrations of just plain being ignored are very aggravating. I hope it will be rectified with all concerned receiving satisfaction.

If it's any consolation at all, I would say thank you for your wonderful repaints of this model, both FS9 and X. I hope to be able to see many more of them after this regrettable situation is resolved.

well....their e-mail adress has become unreachable, they do not react anywhere anymore, things have gone awfully quiet...I fear the worst.

I have had it with these people, and will not do any more paints for this bird, unless they reappear, take out all the bloody security and/or reimburse everybody that wants his/her money back. Besides, I can't see the d**n thing anymore, so painting is out of the question anyway.

I am also removing all my repaints from here and Ozx, as I do not want to entice anybody into the web of this company.
I have had bad feelings about this from the start, but I feel really really sorry for John Terrell, he deserved much better than all this negative publicity. The model was great, the company was $%&#*
However, I think paying €50 for a model that I can use for 3 months is just too much...

Should you (or anybody else that has a working model) still want one of the paints I did, send me an e-mail and I'll see what I can do, OK?

Your FSX experience, along with all the others noted in X forums is totally different from the FS9 experience since the "security" requirements were significantly changed for the X version. It is truely shameful nothing can be done.

Thank you very much for your kind offer of repaints to the FS9 users. I have all the ones already that you have published. I will remian hopeful for a change for the better in this situation as long as John is affiliated with this group.

Looking forward to your furture projects that may be adaptable to FS9 :salute:

Awhile back I contacted WBS to see if it were possible to acquire the additional FSX textures for conversion to FS9. I'm not going to go into details, but will tell you that it was an unpleasant experience in communications and customer support.

I really appreciate the addon textures that both of you have provided, as well as the contributions by Bomber_12th.

Hey WH, to be quit honest, I have not. The vast majority of my personal reference material is for USAAF versions. I realize ther must be a plethora of matiral on the internet of GB and other countries I just never looked.

Did you have one in mind?
