• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Is anyone else experiencing a slow down in the refresh rate for the outhouse? Many times here lately when I load the forum it only loads a portion of the window and I have to hit refresh to get the rest to show up. Even moving from FSX to P3D. . .the same, I have to hit refresh to get it to fully load. Also when posting an answer to a thread or starting a new thread. . .again, I have to refresh to get the entire page to load. Is it forum wide or do I have a problem "in-house"? lol

Here too. And, to complete, when i click the "edit" button to edit a previous post of mine, the previous text NEVER loads. It´s all blank filed. As i was going to write it all again.

Yeper I also have been experiencing slow load times for SOH.Was wondering if I was alone in this , I guess not.
 
Folks I have reported this thread to the my administrator associates. There are several guys that will definitely know the answer to your slow refresh rate.

My own situation is when I enter any of the forums, they come up instantly. The must be a solution and we will find it. :wavey:
 
if soh is slow and you use IE change to google chrome or firefox, it seems after the last MS update soh and ie have issues
 
Same here. Since IE11 copy & paste is u/s, slow SOH tc etc. Switched to Chrome and everything is back to normal :)
 
I use IE11... No slow refresh issues on my system. Although Firefox is a little bit faster. The only issue I have with IE is that sometimes if I click on one of the icons from the "smiles list" it locks up the page and I have to dump the browser.

I reverted IE11 to IE10 since I as a moderator at AVSIM I have need for absolute reliability. IE11 simply would not play nicely with AVSIM's forum software, and caused issues for me even here at SOH.

Uninstalling IE11 is painless and takes only a few minutes. It will automatically roll back to IE10 for you... :teapot:

Hi Ickie, I don't use IE (EVER) but FireFox and SOH is very slow for me. Pages take ages to load and switching to other pages takes ages.

I don't use chrome because it is a glorified piece of spyware.

When I use Tor, speeds are even worse.

Just letting you know, no criticism whatsoever.

I use both IE and FF and have similar problems with both. This has only happened to me since the software upgrade. Another problem I am having is the new or unread threads are showing up as having been read and I need to check the column at the right to find the latest post by the time it was posted.

Also in both IE and FF sometimes the avatars and screenshots are not loading .... just a black box with an 'x' in it.
 
I'm getting the same farken thing with 3 browser on 2 different PCs. My XP I have IE-8 (IE-8, Java and Flash were uninstalled and re-installed to day in hopes of fixing the slowness) and Chome (as a backup browser). My Win 7 has IE-11.

I also reset my modem and changed my wireless router. Also no change. SOH is just farken slow....
 
I use Firefox and yes there has been slow downs during the last couple of weeks or so. For me it appears in two things. When I access SOH, the opening screen (I open always on this FSX General discussion page) takes a lot of time to download. The other thing is with this editor. It takes time to open the editor when I reply to some thread or make some new thread. At the moment there is no other slowing but opening this reply window.

Ditto here. I just figured it was because of all the idiot hacking awhile ago, and that I'd put up with it to allow Ickie and the crew to maintain control over them.

Anything we should do? It's not life altering, just a bit annoying after becoming accustomed to the speed we had before.
 
I use firefox (tried on IE and its still slow) and outhouse is loading very slow, especially during morning and day, at evening it become more usable, though theres no problems with loading on my el cheapo tablet at any time of the day
