• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Slow Outhouse?

I use Firefox and SOH is slow; but AVSIM (which is finally online again) is even slower!

Normally I'd just take it in stride - after all I have time or I wouldn't be browsing forums.

However I wanted to edit a post and it took 2min 35 seconds for the (more) icons to load so I could find and insert a flag . This time was faster - probably because it was still in the cache. (Win 7 & FF and broadband cable)

So, it's not just a figment of the imagination...

It´s important then to determine what is slow for all of us. For me, the 1st SOH FSX Forum Page loads after 22 secs (With cache wiped) in FFox. We know that slow performance can be determined by inumerous possibilities, but the fact that a group is getting the same performance is something to investigate. As people said above, not complaining, just a feedback that might make useful information.

Humm...

Now things are working quite well compared to before. :encouragement: Now lets hope it stays that way.

Yep, DangerousDave has been working behind the scenes to correct the situation and has the ".com" side hummin' along very nicely now. Thanks Dave.

Ickie has been working with the server making some changes. He has several test programs involved to help with the issue. You should be seeing some increases in load speed already. Many have no problem at all, me included. It is hard to fix what you can't see. Let us know if you notice a change. Thanks

Thanks to all for your comments. Ickie has been notified that his efforts were successful. Again, difficult to know how to fix something you can't duplicate.
