Snow Moth

Took the ol' Pus Moth out for a jaunt in the Alaskan snow. Sure made me feel cold. She handled beautifully!

Dandog,...what add-on scenery set are you using for the Alaskan shots? I like the worn paint siding of the hangar. Most add-ons have this ultra-fresh just painted look which seems to me a bit unrealistic.

Wood Lake RAWL comes with Glacier Bay.

That's it. Glacier Bay V2. I love flying out of RAWL. Too bad there's no snow accumulation on the cub. And the price is right.

Terry/Dandog,

I have the Holger Sandmamn Glacier Bay V.2. Parts A and B. I never installed it. Reading around on a few web sight about the package,...it seems there can be a few bugs and issues with it. Do you find this true too or does it install/run pretty much glitch free?

If it needs adjustments,...are there patches put out by H. Sandmann to address these issues?

It never caused me a problem, I consider it one of the best addons available. Just follow Sandman's instructions and you will be amazed at the quality and depth of the scenery.

I agree. No problems here either.
You're missing out on the whole Alaska feel without it.

I was cruising the area in the dead of winter with heavy snow, overcast and layered clouds. All the while averaging 20 FPS. Just the occassional cloud anomaly where half of a cloud is missing. I did land next to a lake and the landing gear/skis disappeared into the snow9Up to the planes belly). Do not know if it was a snow issue or not a properly hardened area. Could not get out and measure the snow.

Install it. Use version 2. You will not regret it.

Best feeware scenery out there for FS9 IMO. If your into bush flyting this is must have. Ive had no problems - I've had it for few years now and done many miles around GB.

You know what would be cool is a paint scheme that has frost and icing on it, lol... I was just thinking about that. In the photo with the bird in flight, side shot, it looks like the flakes are actually spots of frost on the fuselage..

Bill

That would be cool (no pun intended). Would you have to use a downgraded .air file with it?

Would it be possible to add a layer of snow and ice to a model file and have it appear when the parking brakes are set?
