so far

The 150 gal droptanks are already there!
I just have to do a repaint if you want them in black (I made these fully LOD'ed bare metal ones for the P-38s).

Well thats mighty handy! Like the look of the P-38 ones but appreciate they might not be so good on a night fighter! :ernaehrung004:

Thanks, I merely reacted to the piccies from that comic.
But your remark tickled my curiosity and I went through some books; in-flight piccies etc. prove that 2 to 4 of these tanks really was a historical loadout. In fact, there's mentioning of 300-something gal. tanks! All apparently to extend the loitering time and increase the chance of encountering a Jap plane.
Other than that, I assume that nightfighting is more like sneaking up on an unsuspecting enemy and shooting it down, than the high-G maneuvering of a daylight dogfight -which, as you point out, will not go very well with 4 full tanks under your wings.

Posting piccies of Black Widow

This is not Ted, Steve and John's work...

The photo is added by using the Insert Image button. You can upload from your computer or from a URL (web link) – you want to use a URL – but unless you untick Retrieve remote file and reference locally when using a pic from another site you'll get the double display.

Having your screenshots on another site (eg Photobucket, ImageShack etc) means you're reducing the SOH bandwidth load: this is a Good Thing.

A great read on the P-61 series is-( P-61 Black Widow Squadron-Signal aircraft No. 106). Some great pics and specs given-(short/concise text). A great precursor till this wicked bird is released !

24 days? In America we only talk about 12. I guess we're even worse at waiting, but I think everyone knew that.

well

I have been derelict in my duties. Just not quite focused to tidy up the little stuff that remains, real small issues.:dizzy:
