I went looking through my FSX.cfg file this evening to make some minor changes to the autogen settings and came across something I've noticed before but never knew what to do about it.

I have at least three places in the cfg file where display devices are listed:
[Misc]
Com_Rate=7
[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT.0.0]
Mode=1280x800x32
[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT.0.1]
Mode=1024x768x32

[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT.1]
Mode=1024x768x32

[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT.0]
Mode=1440x900x32
TriLinear=1
AntiAlias=1

So which one is the sim reading?

Ita reading the one that matches your screen resolution now..

I think you can delete them all and it will re ad the one you run now at launch again..

i have removed several before with no ill effects..

It looks like your card has two video outputs, are you using both? In which case it's setting the resolutions for each display, you won't generally notice unless you change the monitor you play on or drag a window to the other display. You can set the video settings for both individually in settings, there's a pull down menu for the display adaptor that lets you select which output you're effecting.

Yep, I use a dual monitor setup. A 22" flat screen for the main screen and a 19" CRT for the other. I use that one to move pop ups to. Never even considered that really. I always assume it's just keeping old setup info for the main display, lol. Ah well.

Thanks!!:salute:
