SOH A2A P-51D Group Flight?

I can do a few more blue nosed repaints if needed (or any other squadron)
All from the same squadron would be cool, especially if you're recreating the WWII feel..
There should already be a lot of blue and red noses, or you could try some of the Iwo Jima paints, I've painted a lot of the 506th aircraft.

As I've said umpteen times, unfortunately, flying online isn't my thing. I find it a lot more hassle than it is worth. But I'll stick my hand up a long way to ask for more blue nose P-51Ds (particularly a remade Cripes a Mighty using the new paint kit) in case I ever do get this darned AI to work... Yes, I'm back in ADE and FSX on the other PC again with Spitfires calling "Going Around", "Going around", "Going around"... Actually, you know what? I can see a major advantage to multiplayer flying! :engel016::icon_lol:

Jankees that would be great if you could paint at least a few blue nose schemes from the same squadron. It would be nice if you could make new ones with DDS textures for best performance and looks. I for one would be very grateful. Last night me, and RyanJames, and Kiwikat went for a flight to get the screenshot and it was extremely fun flying in formation. I cant wait to get this group going. Sometime we will have to make a list of the paints everyone will be using. I am going to go and download all the dds ones out right now.

I am going to go online now on gamespy and create a room in the "Adventures" server Called SOH P51 Test for anyone that would like to do com checks and get their stuff set up.

It will be at Interlaken, some great mountain flying and nice visuals.

I had a look, and found 7 blue noses that I've painted so far. I do believe there's also a few by John Terrell around.
I also found a lot of 357th repaints, another idea for a squadron flight..
Did I mention that I've never flown online, and have no idea how to set it up?

Do you have a headset with a boom mic, and broadband internet?

I am not speaking for Kiwikat but usually when we fly we use Teamspeak for talking. If you want to fly with us maybe you should download and install Teamspeak.

I'd like to join. I used to fly upupa epops during the WOP warbird touring group and like to fly that one again. maybe we could use fshost so also fs9 users can join?
i'd like to know what route we fly so i can fly there before to download tileproxy scenery.

just my 0.02$

kind regards,

Meso

I have only tried to fly online once the other night and had a ton of trouble with it. I kept getting disconnected and it seemed that the AA and AF in the multiplayer side wasn't working. In the sim there really aren't any "jaggies" anywhere but when I did manage to connect to a session and get in my plane it was like AA wasn't even on if that makes sense. Is there something that I don't know about? I think that this would be fun if I could get it to work. I would like to use my Big Beautiful Doll repaint that I just did.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!!! This is great! I will try to work out some more details as far as a date and time. It will most likely be afternoon on a weekend day, probably a sunday.

Can I bring my personal pony? (Repaint by Jan Kees (who else?)).

I've fixed the AI problem with Bodney, but instead have discovered a silly mistake that I made with the airfield layout... I'll fix that tomorrow, apologise to the guys on FSDeveloper who have tried to help me for being a total muppet, and hopefully, if anyone is vaguely interested, you'll have a blue nosed pony stable by the weekend.

I really don't believe that I missed the pattern altitude being set to 1500m (pushing 5000') AGL. :173go1:

Going to sleep now before I bang my head off something solid and break it. (The thing I headbutt, that is...)

As long as it is available to the public, sure. I think I am going to keep this to just P-51D's. Assuming we have a successful flight, we can add other aircraft in the future.

Does anyone have a good flightplan in mind? Something around 2 hours would be ideal.

For routing, how about a (semi) historical flight from Prestwick, Scotland, to Bodney? Basically simulate the end of a ferry flight across the pond... Route seems to be about 300mi so should work out OK time wise.

When is this going to happen? If it is not on gamespy or you need teamspeak count me out. I just don't have time to mess with other stuff right now.

TS takes 2 seconds to setup... Besides the gamespy audio is way too quiet to hear over 10+ Merlins. Gamespy audio is simply not an option.

I'll be putting up a poll for dates soon. Stay tuned.

I'd also like some more ideas for a historical flight plan. I'm going to do some research after work tonight.

Will the server be set up with gamespy audio? My last experience with teamspeak was frustrating and I have never had an issue with gamespy unless someone else didn't have their mic working right. I actually only hear pilots on my headset and all other sounds are over my room speakers.

Let me know if you are going to be doing any practice runs, I am off Sun-Wed this week and should be able to make some time. Will install teamspeak again and we should get this thread sticky'd so you can give out details and post pics for people so they know what to expect.

On another note:

SOH needs more fly-Ins and such. Everyone should download Piglets little acrobatic plane for a separate fly in sometime. Maybe make a regular SOH gamespy server every weekend at the same time and place. We could have a sticky for it updating what the plan is for the coming weekend, ie plane, flight plan...... I enjoy having a few beers and flying with fellow SOHians. :applause:
