I was right about the security measures. I've corrected the contact points section again and I also added a line in the brakes section that allows differential braking. It may have not been needed since you have pedals, but it's mandatory if you just have a twisty joystick.

The original is renamed, so you can just drop in the revised version. In the future, you may be able to make edits stick by pulling the file to your desktop, making the edits, then moving it back.

Will it allow nose wheel steering.
 
Yes. The various numbers after the point.x = control different parameters for that point. The 8th one is the steering angle. setting that angle to 180° is actually a flag that tells the Sim to make that one a castor. Replacing that line with the line that specifies a 40° steering angle enables positive steering control. By the way, that's 40° each way from center, for a total swing of 80°.
 
I use it in 7... not a problem at all.

You said you have pedals... when moving slowly, try applying the brake on just one... you'll turn easily.
