SOH Fairey Swordfish sounds.... releasd!

I downloaded the RHAF skin by Smoothie. Two issues I found:

1) The plane is semi-translucent. The MDL file needs tweaked to allow for reflective textures. Will take care of that tomorrow and get the revised MDL files uploaded.

2) The flight crew is comprised of the three ugliest men in all of flightsimdom. That tail gunner guy, the one facing the tail of the plane....now he's got a face even a mother would look at and say "Holly crap!". And the bad thing about it is that they are photo-real faces on those guys....someplace there are 3 broken cameras for sure.

i was wondering why my camera no longer works! Thats why that tail gunner is there and not further up... the enemy takes one look and breaks away :icon_lol: as for the Navigator... heck knows where we found him... Halkidiki Peninsular i think... and the pilot... well he's an online demo pilot, quite handy at the controls too, when not flying these vintage birds he's usually up to his better known tricks... aerobatics mainly, but rumour has it he's handy with the paint too... :wiggle:

Why don't we stick OBIO's dog's face on tail-end-Charlie, kinda like a mascot? At least we'll know by his barking there's someone behind...second thoughts; with the top speed of the Stringbag only a notch above the stalling speed of anything dangerous, it probably wont be neccessary!(icon:big juicey bone:icon)

You two are beginning to scare me now!! :kilroy: icon:Men in white coats:icon

It's actually nice to see somebody having so much fun with this hobby - after all, it's meant to be fun, isn't it?

Andy, fear not I spoke with my shrink a couple of days ago (he's a member of SOH too), he reckons everythings hunkey-dorey! Don't worry about those two idiots in white either (spies from another forum I understand...you know! One of those 'places' where there is the ONE god that everyone else just bows down to) (aha! an icon::monkies::icon)

Bye the way Andy, hows Yeovilton shaping up? I love that place!

FS2004 Royal Hellenic Air Force Gloster Gladiator Mk 1 V.2. The Gloster Gladiator Mk 1 was the last British biplane fighter, a development of the Gauntlet with an enclosed single seat cockpit, cantilever landing gear and with increased armament, and a two blade fixed pitch propeller. First flown in 1935, the Gladiator went into service with the RAF in 1936. The Mark 1 had a 830 hp Bristol Mercury IX engine. During 1937 the R.H.A.F. (E.B.A.) received two Mk 1, bought and offered by Mr. Sarpakis. These aircraft were used for advanced training until 1940. Complete aircraft. The original model, created by Thicko Bielat and Morton (panel), features the usual moving parts, such as all flight controls, spinning wheels and so on; nav lights added by M. Villa. Completely new R.H.A.F. (E.B.A.) weathered metallic textures by Manuele Villa.

For those who haven't checked this little beauty out, you wont be disappointed!
And the sounds created for the Swordfish work very well.

I guess y'all figured I couldn't pass this one up.

[lights]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0 = 3, 1.90, -13.50, 4.07, fx_shockwave_navred
light.1 = 3, -21.57, -0.05, 0.74, fx_shockwave_navwhi
light.2 = 3, 1.96, 13.43, 4.13, fx_shockwave_navgre
//------------ ExhaustFlames--------#2=strobe
//index,type, long, lat, vert, fx_filename
light.3=2, -3.9, 1.05, -2.6, fx_V12_IDLE_starb
light.4=2, -3.9, 1.05, -2.6, fx_V12_MAX_starb
light.5=2, -3.9, 1.05, -2.6, fx_V12_Exhaust
light.6=2, -3.9, -1.05, -2.6, fx_V12_IDLE_starb
light.7=2, -3.9, -1.05, -2.6, fx_V12_MAX_starb
light.8=2, -3.9, -1.05, -2.6, fx_V12_Exhaust

No evidence of landing or taxi lights so far. I can always create some. Will check into it.

Also there were no effects shown so stuck these in from the Swordfish.

[effects]
wake = fx_wake
water = fx_spray
dirt = fx_tchdrt
concrete = fx_sparks
touchdown = fx_tchdwn_s, 1
startup= fx_msd18s
windshield_rain_effect_available = 1

Racartron, you my fine Gentleman are a genius! This is becoming a creative and productive habit. It seems there are many fine subjects out there which by all of us adding 'that extra touch' will make our flying so much more rewarding. Thank you Sir, I hope you enjoy the Gladiator!

'ppreciate the comment but all I did was stuff in your exhaust bits.

I did add your Swordfish sound set as well. Since I fly with the canopy open. the wind effect is perfect. If ya prefer it closed, then ya can comment out the wind bits in the sound.cfg.

I also added a prop ratio and "crash enhancer" to the plane:
prop_anim_ratio=1.400
visual_damage=1
