SOH Practice #3 Getting there in style.

I have the baton SBRF-FHAW Grumman Panther F9F-5P. Planned wildcard leg, over 2 hrs estimated time enroute.

Edit: FSX crash 30 minutes out; baton returned to SBRF.

A few screenies of Tako_Kichi and I

Have you tested the Panther at various altitudes to see where best speed comes? Older jets (non-fan) tend to be happier lower

Best as I remember about the AH F9F Panther with the ROS upgrades, the lower it goes, the faster it gets.

Guess I'll pick up what Barfly started.... South Atlantic Corridor

I have the baton, SBRF to FHAW, Default Boeing 747-400

Don't know for sure what happened but when I was doing the update post, FS set me back at SBRF with a invalid Duenna.

Maybe someone will recover the Flight Data Recorder

Baton is free at SBRF

Dratted shop heaters. Knew I should have taken the DC-7. I'm thinking Achmed was behind all this :d.

I can't tell you why, but I can tell you how...
(from your Duenna .txt file)

Max. altitude: 34934 ft
Time in overspeed: 60.3 secs.
Error count: 1

These things are powerful a/c and accumulate overspeed very rapidly during the climb if not held back. Esp. if one isn't used to it that 60 sec ( which IS fatal in the default 747) is on you like magic. At some point, when you opened your browser, or while posting you grabbed the last few seconds needed to turn you into a cloud of shrapnel. Wind shifts can do it, not setting the autothrottle properly ( or inadvertently disconnecting it or Otto on the way to your browser) .. all sorts of probable causes... one messy result.

Rgr overspeed. I did experience a rather long one during climbout that I was pulling every trick in the book to slow down. I had just leveled out at FL350 when I went to post the status report. When I came back it was sitting back on the rwy.

Ok, gonna try this one more time in a different aircraft. Just don't expect many updates here from me.

I have the baton SBRF to FHAW via the South Atlantic Corridor in the DSB A-7 Corsair II. Fly Navy!

Hokay!

The Garburator errr.... Globemaster III crew is waiting to carry on to the land of Springboks once you arrive

Heading east on hdg 114 at FL320. Ete 1:40/925nm.

Darn this panel needs a serious re-gauging, but other than that, it's a nice enough shop heater.

Interesting data plate on this. Says "Mfd by Kero-Max Heating Systems"

By my calculations (no fuel status gauge onboard) I'm going to be cutting it close on fuel. Guess that means I need to go faster so I can get there before I run out of kerosine.
