SOH RTW Practice #2

Try again, Darn Norton anti-virus thing came on and shut down the duenna, another thing to add to my checklist, shut the darn thing down!!

Yep.. it'll bite! I don't know Norton (ugh) but someone may be able to tell you how to allow Norton to 'pass" the Duenna connect and not crash it.

Also, if you have to use the Flight Analysis screen try to expand the range to show the whole flight, not just the landing. The RTW committee says:
d) Duenna Errors.
In the case of an error in the RTW-Duenna software, pilots may take a screenshot of Flight Simulator's Flight Analysis window upon their arrival. This screenshot must show the entirety of the flight route, to the best capability of the program. Pilots should also make public any other evidence they may have in support of the authenticity of their flight. The Executive Committee will examine all evidence and come to a decision as to whether to certify or invalidate the leg while the team continues to advance its baton around the world.

Good going Mud & Taco. We'll work those little glitches out before the race but the big thing is that the flying was safe and legs went well.

Now that things are a bit more comfortable, think about "squeezing the limits a bit" vs range and time ... a leg that plans at 1+50 is generally going to be within the 2 hrs (or anticipate an short alternate) and there are a lot of hints in the Hideout, or just ask. A 2-3 minute overtime isn't bad if it means being safe - 10 minutes stings ( 3x10=30). More dangerous is running out of fuel and not having an alternate or finding out too late. There are a couple of good fuel computers available that can be added to a panel (the RKG Fuel Status set gives some good size/shape choices). Another one I like is gafid3.zip (FS9) which does a lot of things including radio tuning and showing wind. One handy little popup that can be added.

Should be quick with the tanks mostly MT ... didn't have time for the 507nm to the Falklands?
Better to leave that last hop to someone who can get really scared by lousy wx anyway:faint:
If I had a joystick I'd wing it but someone sez I gotta go babysit the grandkids.

rgr, didn't have time for the Falklands plus I wanted to practice with this A-26 so I thought a short hop would suit me well
