SOH Team Project - Grumman Tracker, Trader, Tracer

LOL Still grinding on the major parts ...View attachment 45639

:salute: Simply fascinating to watch this bird taking shape from its concept.

Gentlemen, Milton's not modelling the aircraft. He's ENGINEERING it!

Beautiful work indeed...I would put up an icon: the world's entire supply of ouzo, but spose I'd better do it at a later date for obvious reasons!

(icon:Mr Smoothie's embarresed cough:icon) exterior sounds from ignition to 50%; in the bag.

Hi Friends,
A silly question for Milton: After the Tracer ? I hope in a wonderful Tracker !!!!!
And, why not, a Trader........

From the first post, i think Uncle Milton will do them all. Even with the possibility of the Radial Tanker!

Milt, She is looking great to me at his point! That radome provided 10% extra lift and we usually did a different movement ( not liked by the stoof LSO's) of the yoke to keep from boltering. Keep up the great work and thanks again.

I have read about the added lift. If you have actual flight experience, we would welcome any input regarding handling characteristics. If you have access or know of books or pilots reports, that information would be helpful in our creation of flight models.

Thank you

Looking for pictures of the Engine

The Wright Cyclone R-1820-82WA - 1,525 hp

Any angle for reference, but need a straight on shot for design and textures.

Thanks for the help.

Thank you Richard. Those are good shots of the engine in the nacelle.

But, what I seek are pictures of the engine on a stand or outside the nacelle so that I can use it to create an engine texture for the model, similar to the attached picture of the A-26 engine.View attachment 45755

now i have a stupid question, why isnt this thread a sticky? :icon29:
Stickies are usually reserved for new releases and other special announcements that need to stay at the top even if they haven't had recent replies. This thread doesn't need to be stickied because there's plenty of activity to keep it at the top anyway.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Tom! :)

Milton,

Can't help with the engine pics.

The closest we have in our museum is a Wright Whirlwind J5 , 220 Hp , ex Lockheed L-10a.

Or a pair of P&W 2800's

Pete.

PS : I knew we had another one ..... it was shifted to a different location in the complex ....

A Wright Cyclone 9 1200 Hp off a Hudson.

Yep, and should this thread slip into the "no new posts" category, some wise guy like me will:bump: it back to the top.

Looking great, Milton!

No problem Pete. There must be pics out there somewhere ... just need to find them.

Uncle Milton! Wow! That was fast!!! Its looking so good!!!

Well, these are the basics shapes of the objects; just getting started. I hope to get the control surfaces cut in this weekend and get started on the gear. Like closing in a house, the real work is ahead. :)

OY!!!!!!!!!!!! She is looking fabulous, not as fabulous as getting her into FSX once she is completed for FS9 first:mixedsmi: Awesome work Uncle Milton:ernae:

I appreciate your help with the native FSX side. Will you be wanting to do your own mapping, or use the FS9 mapping as a start?

Looking great, Milton!

Thank you Sir :)
