SOH Team Project - Grumman Tracker, Trader, Tracer

Milton,

It's already looking great, great progress :guinness:

About the tailhook, notice in extend position it's (well) below the main gear, see the picture below:

Keep up the works!

Thanks guys. I am back on it for a bit, working on the wing slot, tweaking control surfaces, and now the spoilers. These wings have a lot of things going on; quite the engineering spectacle. :mixedsmi:

Hi Rob, Are you interested in doing the interior model?
I'm having trouble with my right eye, so my PC time is limited. You know how tirsome modelling can be. So I'm sorry, but Imust pass for the near future. It's a fantastic project, and I'd love to help you out, but not right now.

Cheers, Rob

I have more if you need it. I took some video of start up and them taxiing around and another of it flying by on departure.

I also have ALOT of photos inside and out of the CDF version.

:salute: Are you kidding T?
I need everything I can get my ears on! I need a 'clean' shot on cruise sounds...(75-100% throttle) very distinctive sounds for this aircraft, yet so far very elusive!
I'm literally losing sleep from frustration.

:icon_lol: It's all your fault T, ever since hearing the first few seconds of your 'Radial' video, I've become a nervous wreck! The sound is there alright, but too short to use.

!!! H E L P !!!

"The plane is used for Eucational purposes and is no longer airworthy.
The Test involves starting the engines, unfolding and folding the wings, opening and closing the bomb doors and extending the MAD boom."

Interesting problems we have with our right eyes. They just are not what they used to be, but I shall keep plugging along.

Thank you Robcap for responding. I will then leave open the Interior (VC) model for anyone interested in the challenge. I can provide the basic VC shell and a working panel/gauge backdrop.

As I think I mentioned before... I am not much on tech savvy... but could do a nice job on the textures for the VC... Just let me know....
I think you've seen the quality of my work...

Thank you gaucho. Smoothie is heading up the primary textures efforts although many may participate. Once I complete the exterior mapping, he will produce a paint kit to share with everyone who wishes to contribute. There are so many possibilities out there that all are welcome to contribute.

My focus right now is on exterior model development; this will likely require another 3 months. Hopefully someone will step up for the Interior (VC) model development and they can decide how to proceed with textures there.

I hope that you do jump in; we appreciate your talent and enthusism.

Having rode in one years ago, I'm looking forward to the C-1 Trader and have a repaint of my own in mind for the one I rode in. Found a pic of it. USS Lexington's COD C-1 from 1976.
Excellent: I've flown the life out of you're old version tho the uncovered sonobuoy drop tubes and MAD boom drove me bonkers. I can hardly wait to see a GOOD tracker with VS-37 colors in FS9.

This link may also come in handy for paint details:

I meant exactly that....

That is what I was offering to work on... interior and VC textures.... I can also do a 2D panel and really nice screwless gauges...

Gaucho, i'd be more than happy for you to work on the VC textures while i focus my efforts on the externals...

Maddog, Thanks for the link, bookmarked and standing by for texture usage :salute:

Milton, she's looking fantastic... always did have a soft spot for the Tracker/Tracer/Trader series, so eagerly awaiting this, great work and keep it up!

and last but no less least.... Nigel, if your Phantom sounds are anything to go by (< Sarcasm, they're Phaaaaaaantastic!) then this will be another Gem!

I know the sound pack I am going to use initially...Lawdog's newer B-25 sound pack....that thing is awesome. I will take that pack, tweak it to better fit the Trader/Tracer/Tracker in terms of landing gear and flaps. The engine sounds are simply works of art.
