SOH Team Project - Grumman Tracker, Trader, Tracer

My praise and thanks goes out to Milton and the team for bringing the community yet another fantastically detailed and fun-to-fly model. Great work all of you and I am a big fan of all the models that Milton and his team have put together all these years. Certainly lots of compliments for this great effort and the many happy hours it has given me, being able to fly virtually. :salute:

Well thank you Sir; the team members and I appreciate that kind of feedback anytime. :) I am happy that you get so much pleasure out of these creations.

Hey Uncle Milton, i was wondering if the Turbo 3T was ever used for Cargo, if it was, is it possible to do a Clean Civvy version like the one you did with the Radial Trader? Not sure why i am asking, but i figured if it wasnt too much time.

The turbo is not done yet. I may consider it later. There are already 9 different models to this package and its getting a bit unwieldy trying to manage all the variants and differences. It certainly blew my "Grumman Seven" name. LOL

The C-1A Cargo Hauler

I decided to go ahead with uploading the C-1A Cargo Hauler with "mgr's" base textures to keep the ball rolling here.

This unit has two models: both are the standard C-1A with a cargo outfitting. Both models can be painted using Marcel's paint kit.
But one model has reflectivity built in and the main exterior body parts texture names must have the _t appended to the texture names to work and to provide the reflective properties.

To reduce the size of the download, I also aliased the panel and sounds to the original C-1A. Of course you can change that as you wish to any of the models, or copy the panel and sounds to this aircraft folder.

The paint kit is here: http://www.flightsimonline.com/Grumman/soh-c1a-paintkit.zip

Progress. Thought I'd never get the top of the chevron on the back of the nacelle to match up accross textures! WHEW! Almost done now, bit more weathering to do on the wings, then the docs and it'll be ready for upload. Then quick to follow will be one each from the sister Squadrons, VS-72 and 73.

Duckie: to you and all the other gifted/talented warriors working on these ships;

I'm drooling at the prospect of flying all these most awesome works of art.
Time has been so pressing on getting things out the hangar, most of my models are still in 'Milton blue', only daring to fly them for sound checks when needed.

To all of you kind Gentlemen who have been so generous in feedback and comments re sound, I thank you, each and every one.
If we're finally getting things right somehere, then credit is due to to your continual and often gentle encouragement.

Many, many thanks.

Nigel

Has anyone created suitable cfg files for the rcbco catapult launch and arrestor gauges??

Panel.jpg

panel.cfg:

Window03=Radio
Window04=Electric popup
Window05=Meatball

//--------------------------------------------------------

gauge31=rcb-miljet!Icon_Ball, 233,390,19,18 // The Icon that opens HUD.
gauge32=dsd_catapult!catapult,175,390,53,30,300100 // The catapult gauge
gauge33=dsd_arrester!arrester,130,390,35,30 // The arrester gauge
gauge34=dsd_carrier_zones!dsd_carrier_zones,0,0
gauge35=rcb-miljet!CatLaunch,0,0
gauge36=COP_Config!config, 0,0,,, ./gauges/rcb-miljet/COP_Config.ini
gauge37=COP_Sound!dsd_xml_sound3, 0,0,,, ./gauges/rcb-miljet/COP_Sound.ini

And add:

//--------------------------------------------------------
[Window05]
size_mm=240,240
window_size= 0.23,0.31 // Size: 23% screen width, 31% screen height
window_pos= 0.39,0.02 // Top-Left corner at: 39% horizontal, 2% vertical
background_color=0,0,0
visible=1
ident=10011
gauge00=rcb-miljet!Ball,0,0,240,240
gauge01=dsd_carrier_zones!zone_selection, 10,0,200,14

When the arrestor wire retracts, the castoring nosewheel throws a wobbly.
How does one fix that?

Interesting! Great video. Happy that you showed that.

You can stop the nose gear from doing that by eliminating the castoring nose wheel.

Contact point 0: change the 180 to 45 or less.

Yup. I used 45, and I'm happy with that.
You still get the benefit of differential braking but now the nosewheel animates, too.
Thanks, Milton.

If that is not enough to make your pivot onboard for positioning, just increase it to 55-60. The downside to increases is its more difficult to keep her straight on takeoff with an oversensitive steering.

You little beauty Wing!

Thank you for the Ouzo, Nigel!
You know, I am a little embarrassed about the music... FRAPS just records whatever it "hears" and I always have music of some sort on the computer.
It was only after your comment that I realised I had all but stomped all over your splendid soundtrack.
Ouch! I will make another, better, clip with the mike shoved in the exhaust to make amends...

Get on with you...you rascal!

Don't edit. The music reminded me of bouzouki, and I was pleasantly tickled/chuffed.
Don't change a thing mate, loved it!...wish we had more of this kind of input.

Don't s'pose you'd give us a nice one for the Avias would you...or are we getting greedy!
