I'm happy to have got the Warbirdsim P-51C up and running. I thought I'll celebrate by doing some close formation work with the A2A bird (Fs-recorder 2.0 - couldn't have FSX without it).

As Duxford's my usual stomping ground I thought it would be suitable as both these aircraft were based here untill recently.

Very nice screenshots, and definitely a vision of the Horsemen routines that were done in these aircraft, while both were stationed at Duxford. I'm glad you are getting a kick out of the C model! I've always viewed "Princess Elizabeth" as sort of the flagship of the product, and while owned by Jim Beasley, he provided a great deal of information and photos of "The Princess" that helped bring the aircraft together.
 
Nice shots and nice action, though they'd have had a hard time doing that with the droptanks attached in RL.:icon_lol:
 
I wonder if you posted those screenshots over at AirShowBuzz how long it would take for some to realize that they were flight simulator screenshots and not photos of the Horsemen doing their routine.
 
Cheers Guys. When I did the flight I recorded it without the drop tanks - but they only show up on the reply for some reason.

Fabulous shots Rowdy! And awesome formation flying - wish I could manage it in these two.

But I just noticed 'Twilight Tear's' got the wrong serial font on the right side of the fin - oh **********!!!!:banghead:

I've fixed it and will post later to Flightsim.

Really good shots there - I think the drop-tank issue is part of the whole Warbirdsim / FS Recorder issue, along with the aircraft not showing correctly if you're flying something else. I really hope that's something that gets fixed in the 'Big Update', because it kind of sucks to do a formation with the F16 and have to chase that to get into formation - would be so much easier the other way round!
 
Two P-51s

Very nice screenshots!

I have a question: What is the procedure that you use to record two aircraft at the same time in FSX? You mention FS-recorder 2.0. Would you please explain.

Well it's complicated at first Jim - but one gets used to it eventually.
If you've used Fs-recorder before - then read here to learn how to make aircraft formations with this program....
1. Once you've installed the software - load up FSX on any flight/plane and hit the "FS-recorder / record" option located on the top menu bar.
2. After you're flight's finished press stop recording and save the FRC file in any location. e.g "Formation No.1"
3. Then hit "play as traffic" and browse to your saved file and open it. Your previously recorded flight will now appear as traffic. Press record again + try to fly with yourself in formation (as above).
4. After this flight is finished stop and save the file again e.g. "Formation No.2"
5. Now return to play as traffic and click and select both "Formation No.1 and No.2" and play as traffic - both will now appear and replay the flight!

If you've never used FS-recorder before then either read the tutorials on their website or download it and read the manual to learn basics.

I hope I haven't been to brief - feel free to ask more!

There's a second way to do formations using FSRecorder as well and that's to edit the FRC files with the tools provided. You record one flight and save the flight as a frc file. Then using the converter tool you convert the frc to a text or txt file. Then you make copies of the text file, changing the name of the aircraft flown and making offsets of time and position. Then you convert the txt files back frc files and play back all the files at the same time, during which you video record or screen capture your flight.

In the "Korea" section of the LT-6G promo video, the pair of F-84's with bombs is actually one flight with three copies all played at the same time.
