• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

OK, I'm sure many have mentioned this a million times but I am just fed up with people like fsgamer who blatantly amuses himself and his illegal file-sharing "freetards." He has not done this once but many times over. Just look at the list of latest flight simulation software being paraded overtly on piratebay in utter contempt of copyright laws.

Is there a way we can stop this effectly. I know it's hard, but there must be some way to do this.

I have spent countless hours trying to get my wares out to the paying public in good faith only to be short-changed and humiliated publicly by this nut. This is very discouraging indeed.

I think there are probably only a handful of flight sim products that have managed to not be hacked and distributed through filesharing sources. It really sucks.

I think that the important thing is to make yourself known in the flight sim communities that support developers such as yourself who put out quality products, and provide fantastic customer support and care for paying customers.

Unfortunately internet anonymity makes punishing criminals like this very difficult. The P.B. will be of no help, but if you can find a personal website or a shred of personal info on "fsgamer" I would recommend reporting him to the authorities...
 
Unfortunately, I hate to admit defeat, but the only and best way to slow these guys down is to use very aggressive anti-piracy software, which then it is only a matter of time before they crack it. I have been after guys like this for a long time. I was there with FSWC went down along with the short time Mr. Ferguson got his website removed... but while FSWC is gone forever, Ferguson is still back and worse more these ferrets just started torrenting this crap.

I have found a place of residence he has on the internet, he details downloads and links to pirate files.

I've been going thru the pages and have found some that I can report as pirated to the owners.... A2A and Captain Sim are 2 of them. The rest I've no idea who to send the report to. Any ideas where? If I can help people get their goods off there I'll do all I can.
 
Every single time we make a release we again think about what additional measures we can take to prevent pirating, but 2 things always come to the forefront:

1. Development cost
2. Increased risk of inconveniencing a customer

I have to say, as a life-long flight simmer, we are a good community. Most of our customers understand the fact that sales are a developer's life line. I know I speak for all developers when I say 'thank you' to all those good customers that 'get it.' It's because of you, we exist.

i've got a feeling 99% of fs payware developers know their stuffs on there allready.
 
I ask my self with thieves like the above mentioned site around , the day may come when fsx or any other software developer my just stop. I am glad to have suppoted IRIS, WILCO,LIONHEART,A2A AND MICROSOFT just to name a few good companies.

If they did Stiz, I'm sure their payware would be off that site by now. I cannot believe the that M$ knows FSX and FS9 are on there still, and not do anything about it.
