Found an off-road sim called 'Spin tires' here: http://www.spintires.com/#!/home

It's been around for some time, and you can play around with it using the tech demo and if you download the developer version, you can install plenty of mods already!

The final version of Spintires has been released a few days ago and it's really a lot of fun!

The physics and the graphics are excellent.

I'm quite impressed with this, despite no wheel support, mediocre camera settings and not a lot to do except load and unload logs, but good very graphics, a different concept, (be great with Deserts added into the mix) and the enthusiasm that should see those negative aspects I mentioned attended to ASAP.
Great effort from a small kickstarter group, well worth the very reasonable asking price.
