SOH ADMINISTRATIONMilton:Is there a wing fold sound option in CFS2/3? Anyone know? . . .
Milton:
I flew in the beasts (Canadian CS2F-2) off carriers for a number of years (back-seat, non-pilot) back in the Sixties, and I never heard any sound -- neither externally nor internally -- from the wing-fold mechanism. I recall it was a relatively simple hydraulic lashup, where the guys up front would flip the lever near the back of the overhead console, and the wings simply began moving. There's the possibility that they made some sort of sound, of course, but it could never be heard over the sound of the engines, which were providing the hydraulic power.
Now that I think of it, I often watched the Greasy Rag Merchants doing tests/checks of the wing-fold of various cabs, using a maintenance hydraulic test rig, and even with that much-more quiet setup, you could never hear the wings while in motion.
Cheers,
Milton: There are a number of cfs3 planes that have folding wings. Shift+W and on some others shift+B:salute: Not sure bout an sound option.
