Soundset for J79 engine?

Somewhere, in the years I have been flightsimming, I thought I remember a J79 soundset was available?

Any help? NC
 
The J-79 engine was mounted on the F-104 as well right ? The freeware SimSkunkworks F-104 has quite a nice soundset too.
 
I would also endorse the Skunkworks F-104 sound set. It has a good replication of the characteristic "howl" of the J-79 installed in the 104. My dad was a GE tech rep on the J-79 and would occasionally take me along when he went to work at Larson AFB (Moses Lake, WA)--circa 1959. I will never forget the sights and sounds of that airplane.

A couple of years ago, at NAS Oceana's annual airshow there was a TF-104 demo team providing a segment and it definitely got your attention with the unique sound! On the flybys, it sounded like a bullet out of the barrel of a rifle.
 
I installed the freeware F-104 from Skunkworks, and aliased to that sound file. Sounds great! Love that howl!!!

Just as an aside, from what I've read from different sources, the famous, moaning "Moose Call" of the F-104 at various throttle settings was peculiar to that aircraft as a result of the configuration of it's main engine intake/intake cone and was not generally heard on other aircraft employing the J-79. I don't recall F-4's making the same howling noise in the times I heard them at various airshows, especially on the ground or when in the pattern for landing, but having seen Starfighters many times at shows here in Canada their sound was memorable...


I could always be wrong, though :)

All I can say is I definitely remember hearing the characteristic "howl" from the F-4s that flew overhead Pax River, when I was there in the mid 1970s. All different types of USN aircraft were in the inventory at that time: A-6, A-7, RA-5C, A-4, etc..., yet the Phantom was the only one with the "moose call", as you described! NC
