Source Files for MAW, Korea and Solomons

All I wanted to know, was what was behind the changes you wanted to make. I mean no disrespect to what the ETO guys are doing. Making minimal changes to finish certain parts of Italy, doesn't sound like a big deal now, but before, a lot of us were getting the impression there were going to be wholesale changes to what has been done already.

That in itself, would cause few problems, as long as the update could be added in, if a user wanted to. Having a choice has been what this series has been about, even from our CFS1 days. I think that is something we need to continue, hopefully.

Not that long ago, when a new model became available, it was uploaded to various websites, for everyone to try. Now, it seems like its only available if you have the ETO mod installed. Again, no disrespect towards the ETO group, but this kind of arbitrary decision, is not the way all of us old-timers like. Not everyone has the space on the old HD for all the different mods that are around. Wish it was like it used to be.

As for the aircraft source files, like someone has said, better keep a tight lid on them, but updating certain parts of the Italian scenery should be done,(Now that we have a better understanding of what is planned) because we had and still have great contributions being done by our Italian friends, whether it is Pietro,Alx,Corrado,Luca, etc, so don't disappoint them..

And fixing the water attributes for Korea, has been wanted by us all for a long time.

Eddie,

ETO is a separate add on just like MAW, and just like MAW it has it's own aircraft designations, armaments, guns, weapons and effects package.

Nothing has changed with regard to CFS3 and anyone can still upload any aircraft they would like anywhere they want to. There is nothing arbitrary about developing aircraft to work well within a new addon. MAW was designed to that end also, so I don't understand where you are coming from with your remarks.

As for MAW it is a dead issue and there will not be an update.

Steve

So in a few words, the entire MAW ftp (that's probably what we're talking about) plus all the work done on scenery by Ed is now to be made "public"? WOW!

I knew Ed intended to write a tutorial on how to work with terrain and as far as his files are concerned I'd say ok...I was no closer to him than many here so who am I to judge? But MAW source files...uhm?

Let's not hide source raping behind a partial MAW update!

On a sidenote, all those discussions about sourcefiles and their origin do not belong to public boards, we used to handle those things in private amongst trusted guys back then. :kilroy:

WAY BACK Mat! Times do change or so it seems...:kilroy:

Well, we got Mat and Luca around, it does seem like old times, lol Where is Alx, Pietro, Will, Greg, John, hmmmmmmm, forgot the name of our friend from Poland who did all that amazing research for you guys, he could find out anything you would need, whether it was how a pit looked, or what gauges were in it! He never ceased to amaze me!

BTW Luca, did you ever get the landing gear designed for your new jet? That model was looking pretty good!

Henry,

When you can please close and lock this thread. All eleven of the DVDs have now been destroyed. There is nothing left of Ed's work.

Thanks

Steve
