SPARTAN 7W EXECUTIVE released

Update on the female voice. With this plane installed, there is a global voice change. Regardless of which plane I pick, when the Spartan is installed, my ATC interactions are all done with the copilot avatar's voice. Two things will change this - remove the Spartan or change my copilot to a male avatar. Since I'd rather have a female figure beside me, I'll keep the Spartan on the desktop for now.

Tom, please be sure to send any bugs you encounter to the dev. I sent Tyler an email reporting the stopped prop visual issue and he was very appreciative, and he fixed that in the first update. (I also let him know what I liked about it, because I know it's disheartening to release a long-in-development product and only hear the complaints!)

He's really passionate about the plane and wants to get it right. I'm sure he'd appreciate a report from you (and anyone here) on any issues you find. Posting here is helpful for people who are interested in the plane, but doesn't do anything to get the issues fixed. :)

Also, I can't duplicate your ATC issue. I have my pilot set to PILOT1 (dude) and my Copilot set to Cpt. Jess Molina (dudette) and my ATC interactions in the Spartan are with a male voice. Wonder if some other mod is causing an issue for you when you have the Spartan installed?

I'm going to try again a little later with nothing in my Community folder except the Spartan and see what happens. If it's still happening, I'll contact the dev. Others on the official board have said that can't replicate the issue.

Well, I fixed the voice issue, but darned if I know how. Troubleshooting/fix steps:
  • Move entire contents of Community folder to another location, then add Spartan back in.
  • Start sim and test - have male voice with ATC.
  • Move rest of Community folder back into place.
  • Restart sim and test.
  • Expect female voice.
  • NOPE! Now I get the male voice like normal.

Logically, this shouldn't have worked, but like so many other things in Windows, it just did. :dizzy:

I'm off to have a bottle of liquid bread...

Is there a hidden click-spot somewhwere for that tie-down cover to show up?
I can,t seem to find it .

Is there a tailwheel lock for this thing? For the life of me, if it starts to wander off due to torque/p-factor and I kick in even a hair of rudder, the s-turn oscillation dance begins. The only thing I can do to tame it is to get the tailwheel up ASAP.

The dev took a shot at putting in positive tail steering, but set the max steering angle to 90°. A little basic trig (that math subject you swore in high school you'd never use) shows that 70° is ideal to let you pivot on one main. Open the flight model config file and make the following change, highlighted in bold red:

90° just makes things way too twitchy. I'm not sure if there is a tail wheel lock, but if there is, and you want a true caster, change that 70 to 180.

Well, I've looked back through IniBuilds' forum, and it looks like they've edited out their March 24th announcement that had originally mentioned about the Spartan Executive they were working on. If they've canceled their project because of this HCG product release, it would be a tremendously massive let down! Even though the renders that IniBuilds had posted were still quite early, they already showed a vastly higher level of visual accuracy and craftsmanship than this HCG offering.

These were the IniBuilds renders:

Has the Inibuilds Spartan Executive been cancelled? I hope it hasn't, for the same reasons as you!

Wasn't aware this was out until I noticed a recent post in this Forum, & being a sucker for Radials, I purchased it.
Have had several long flights with it & overall I have found it very enjoyable to fly.
Fairly priced at USD20, I am not sure if the fuel economy is correct or that it is on the parsimonious side, but it goes a long way on full tanks.
I was pleased to see the KAP 140 AP as it lets me set VS & ALT HLD & NAV, & I can send it off for a long trip & get back in an hour or so to find it is on track, at the correct altitude.
Although an INI version may turn up, this one is meeting my requirements.
Just need Jankees to come up with a few liveries.:adoration:
