spawning question

I know this subject as already been discussed , in several british file I find the following:
Country="Britain" AllowSpawn="y"
I always tought that only german and usa vehicles ,planes or ship could spawn.
 
The 'Y' means that this model will be used in the random spawns in missions and campaigns. It's not, afaik, country specific.

You can change it to N and nothing bad will happen! :)
 
In the ship folder several b_xxx ships have country=usa instead of britain, can I change the country back to britain ?
How will this affect the usage of the ship if any ?

Ships with country=usa will spawn as ground spawns and campaign mission targets. Having British ships with country=usa just gives you a bit more variety in your shipping formations.

If you change them back to Britain and you have a stock country.xml (which says that only usa will spawn for allies), you will not see British ships either as ground spawns or as campaign mission targets.

I often make up duplicate ships, one with british and one with usa nationality, in much the same way as AI aircraft are made, so as to get more spawning variety.
