My last hurrah....
...before going on sabbatical will be to finish the B-25D gunship Green Dragon. She' about half finished now and Sopwith is working the skin. After that I'm done for a bit. Here's a shot of the WIP.:welcome:

I mean you have only done the B-25 C&D; you can go on sabbatical when you have finished the A,B,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P...Z versions as well!!!!

Thanks for giving me (us) a super-nice B-25C replacement for the m/s version. I put everything together and just wanted to let you know that she's SWEEEEET!
I have sent some screenies of Gertie's first "full-up" test hop (all tricked out and bombed up). She flies like a dream ... no nasty habits or surprises and is a really stable bombing platform. Like I said ... SWEEEEET!

SERIOUSLY, I suspect that with the light bombs and a reduced fuel load, you can probably get her up with some coaxing. IF NOT, you can add the CATAPULT feature to the aircraft....see MY STUFF AT SOH..and you can launch from any carrier.
I 'am ,you could say a Dem, I'm a aventurer , I will try.....:karate:..... with a severe pitch roll and a crapy metar ......

Tokyo Sleeper.
Despite the odds, Tokyo Sleeper lived a long life. She is seen here a few months after arriving in the SWPA in mid-1942 via the Hawaiian route. The location is Durand Strip near Port Moresby and at this stage of her life she had accumulated 26 missions. This B-25C was assigned to the 405th Bombardment Squadron which later began painting green dragons on the noses of their strafer Mitchells, including Tokyo Sleeper.
By March 1944 only four of the original Mitchells were still flying combat with the 38th Bombardment Group. They were: #41-12895 Grasscutter, 107 Combat Missions 335 Combat Hours, Tokyo Sleeper, 131 Combat Missions, 447 Combat Hours #41-12908 Mavourneen, 95 Combat Missions, 363 Combat Hours, #41-12938, and Ole Cappy, 116 Combat Missions, 408 Combat Hours.
Each of the above Mitchells had by this stage of the war flown well over 700 total hours. This valiant quartet saw practically the whole war in New Guinea. The only action they missed was due to engine changes, maintenance, modifications, or repair from battle wounds. The 38th Bomb Group was the first medium Bomb Group to be permanently stationed in New Guinea. Their activities started with the bombing of the Wairopi (Pigdin for 'Wire Rope') Bridge and enemy trails at Soputa, thus taking an active and almost daily participation in the Buna campaign.
In late 1942 these planes would often make single ship armed recconnaissnace missions along the north coast of New Guinea, through the Vitiaz Straits to take a peek at Cape Gloucester, then down the south coast of New Britain as far as Gasmata. Then they would turn and make a run for home, for all this territory was strictly Japan's back yard at that time, and the dreaded Owen Stanley Mountains with clouds full of rocks still had to be crossed. In December 1942 the action was largely against Buna, and Buna was 'hot'. There was a well-known Japanese gunner on the south side of the sea end of Buna strip that the 38th BG crews all called 'Buna Bob', and he was the most accurate gunner on the field. Seldom would the 38th BG planes return without indiscriminate souvenirs of Buna, gifts from 'Buna Bob'.
During the Battle of the Bismarck Sea she was flown by 1st Lt. W.D. Brandon in the afternoon attack on Convoy 81. Scoring 1 hit and 4 near misses on Tokitsukaze.
Originally named Row Binder II, Tokyo Sleeper flew 136 missions before she was retired in March 1944. She then served as a fatcat with the 71st Squadron but was written off on 25th June 1944 at Mokmer Drome, Biak, during a landing accident.

...true. 'Historically Correct' skins are fine and dandy, but in many cases they in themselves are highly inaccurate because of errors in the source material. I cannot tell you how many illustrations I have seen of 'real aircraft' that were nothing like the plane that I had seen in person....plus each aircraft had several schemes during her lifetime. Hell, my unit changed paint schemes three times while I was in.
Actually, I got an email from the Cherokee Tribal Council demanding equal skin time. After all they say, the Apache have Apache Princess. At least I used the clothed version that is carried on a real-life Piper Cherokee...235 I think.
If it feels good do it, if it looks good use it. With Sopwith's paint kit, you can please yourself. :kiss:
