Splashing Epic Paint Again

I've been waiting for my new yoke to arrive and to kill the boredom I decided to splash some more paint on Bill's wonderful Epic.

As usual I fancied something different to the run of the mill GA schemes so this is a 'what if' scenario based on a Canadian search and rescue scheme.

The panel fascia, throttle quadrant, table and trim are finished in brushed alumin(i)um.

I gave it a nice bright interior and added a maple leaf upholstery motif.

Finally I gave the luggage a work over to make them equipment cases. ;)

Oh and the pilot got a new set of clothes too. :icon_lol:

Hopefully I will get the files packed up and uploaded tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I made a few changes today as I spotted a number of errors. :redf:

I added the Canadian Gov't logo above the wings, added a black edge to the fuselage band and changed the font on the nose number to match the wings.

On the inside I changed the font on the fascia/quadrant from blue to red to better match the seat covers.

I just uploaded the files so they should be available for download within 24 hours.

Enjoy! :ernae:

Excellent paint. Now iwish i had your guys cockpit paint talent. My USCG Epic would love seats and luggage like this canadian forces epic.

American flags and USCG Seals seats and luggage with the feel of your Canadian Forces cockpit.

It has possibilities...lol.

US flags are not a problem but I may have to poke around on the web to find the USCG seals. The luggage I can easily make red/white with the seal.

What were you thinking of for the seat covers? Small US flags in a pattern like the Canadian ones, or USCG seals, or perhaps a combination of both? What would you like as a base colour for the seats too remembering that whatever is used cannot clash with whatever motif we go with?

Another alternative for the seats would be to apply a diagonal red/white/black stripe like the external bands.

Which USCG paint do you have too Tim as I would need to get that to see which interior is in use already.

Finally, do you want a custom fascia too or are you happy with the stock matt black one?

OK Tim I had a couple of hours to play today so I thought I'd show you the results of my efforts.

Here is the cockpit view.....

This is the view from the rear seats......

I originally had the seat pattern featuring alternating USCG seals and US flags but I think Bill must have used a mirrored texture as they looked great in the shot above but when viewed from the cockpit position all the US flags were mirror images so I had to resort to just the seal as you cannot see when that is reversed (thankfully the text is too small to read).

The new luggage/equipment cases....

Let me know what you think (good or bad ;) ) and I will either make changes or package them up and upload them for you.

I just uploaded the files Tim so they should be available as soon as they get processed which is usually within 24 hours.

woohoo! I'll see I'f I can get my dad to add on my fsx install. I wish I was administrator so I can put any aircraft on my fsx.

off topic tako is that plane on your avatar the ww2 training plane? I forgot what it was called

It's not WWII (much later than that) but it is a trainer and one I have flown in real life. It is a De Havilland Chipmunk and was used by the RAF for many years and I got to fly it as a member of the Air Training Corps (the RAF cadet force) as a schoolboy and lots of fun it was too. This link has lots of info on the 'Chippy' and it is also available as a freeware aircraft for FS9/X by the great freeware developer Rick Piper.

Interestingly it is a good bet that the Canadian built versions were manufactured at the plant your father works at as that was the home of De Havilland Canada before they were taken over by Bombardier.

yea it was made where my dad works but the chipmunk that I saw in real life had a different cockpit style. It was like a bubble. The reason I thought it was the ww2 tutor plane I think it was called grob tuor or something (it's in my cfs 3), is because of the body's shape but now I realize that the plane I'm thinking of had no cockpit and had 2 seperated seats.

lol nvm it's not grob tutor for sure lol grob tutor is kind of new. I feel stupid. Grob tutor is another plane a have in cfs 3. I was talking about the magister. lol srry
