Spotted this project yesterday

I was doing some research on some different Naval Aircraft yesterday and saw this screen shot posted in a public FS forum:

An FSX native E-2C in current build but since I do not have all the particular pieces of information on it, I hope someone "in the know" on this project will speak up on the details about it. Looks great at the obvious build stage which seems to indicate a truly awesome model is on the way.

As an avid E-2 enthusiast, and someone who has been clamoring for a high-detail E-2 (all variants) in FSX for years now, I followed that project closely. Sorry to say, I saw recently that the developer has abandoned the project. :pop4:

...here is the official 'announcement of cancellation' video...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOysUwrxaew

No, not cancelled(if we're speaking of the same project or perhaps taken over by RFN or another group?) The posts I saw are current over at Pilote-Virtuel.com in the CDG thread and they indicated it's ongoing but the end product will be with the new 8 blade props. If I understood correctly, there's more details to come over the next says & weeks.

Hi guys,
StormILM, I can give you more detail on the project you spoke about, but I guess you'd be a little disapointed...
It's not a flying model but just a static model to be spotted on the CDG's flight deck I'm working on...
Here s an update after mapping and kaking shadows done...

As a E-2C/C-2 fan, I desesperetly look for a FSX release, Felixthreeone whose project the video was speaking about? Razbam one?

Regards,
Sylvain

The project was to be a fully FSX native E-2, with a complete VC and numerous variants. It was wel into the advanced stage when the developer(s) pulled the plug. I am not aware of any other E-2's in the pipeline (except the Razbam one, which most likely will never see the light of day if it even exists). Razbam has a forum topic listed for the E-2, but not even one thread exists there let alone a single screenshot...

....If you go on youtube, and search NYangelo, you can view a number of videos of this particular FSX native E-2 in action. it is a shame they abandoned the project as the E-2 is one of my fav USN aircraft and one of the first I was priveledged enough to ride in...

Well darn, I guess I lost the status of that in translation but it looks like a flying model and not a static model from the early shots. I wasn't even aware of the other model you mention Felixthreeone. Speaking of the Razbam Hawkeye, I remember seeing the screens some time ago but then nothing. Believe it or not, I have a copy of the old Iris FS9 E-2C that was released as an uncompleted build. But that project never saw the light of day after that. It's sad that a good model of an E-2, as well as a C-2 and S-3 are missing from FS being that they were very prolific on carrier decks for so long.

Oh well..... Sorry for the false alarm folks.

....Nothing to be sorry about!!! I too have been begging and pleading these FS developers to complete the flight-deck based aircraft for a long time. Not port-overs, not 'well, you can get the abacus one' BS....real, legitimate, FSX native E-2, C-2, and S-3 Viking. That is it. There is nothing else missing from my FSX world but those three. I really got excited by the project by NY angelo, and followed it closely. It looked VERY good! But, of course, :pop4:.

Nevermind the fact that there are 456 different freeware and payware 737's, 89 different P-51's, 1,234,223 Cessnas....NO E-2, S-3, C-2. Yeah...I am a little aggravated by it. Just a little. Heck...If I knew how, I would make one....

What I really would LOVE to see....Is a developer like Milviz pick up the E-2 or S-3 (or, preferably, both)...That would be the best-case scenario, since they are churning out some spectacular stuff these days....

....Sorry for the rant. had a bit of a bad day, and got excited when I saw an E-2 at the beginning of the thread...
