Stearman over the Islands

SOH-CM-2025
Man, this is almost as painful to fly (slow) as the A2A Cub, but something about this airplane (the virtual wind in your hair experience) makes it very enjoyable to fly. I took her from Hana Airport, up to Haleakala and then west back to Ford Island. Just a side note about the Volcano: in 1982 my wife and I (now divorced) went for a week to Maui, all expenses paid for by the Ad Agency I worked for. We took a drive up to the rim of the Volcano (above the clouds) and stood on the edge and looked across. The guide there asked me how far across I figured it was. . .I guessed about 5 miles. . . .his reply. . ."Actually that's approx. 30 miles across". I was dumbfounded. The enormity of the mouth of that volcano is so immense as to completely dwarf any idea of distance you thought you had, lol.

Always clouds at some part of the day over the Koolau's! Thanks for the tour!:wavey:

My pleasure Crashaz! Actually these Islands are some of the most scenic in FSX yet I rarely fly here, even though I have Dillingham installed which is a remarkable piece of addon scenery.

Nice shots...

Thats my favorite place to fly...Just love it there for some reason....

Chacha;290190Is that the Hawaii Mega Scenery that you are using? :applause:[/QUOTE said:
If anyone's thinking about buying this, MegaScenery Hawaii is awesome, but only covers Oahu. Good for Ford Island, Ko'olaus, Waikiki; won't touch the Neighbor Islands like Maui (pictured here).

Mine too. Do wish there was Megascenery available for all of the islands, and other add-on airports as well.
Yea, there was a whole series of nicely done airport sceneries for FS9, but I haven't seen those redone for FSX. Wonder if they would work in FSX? Probably have the same basic problems with Alpha channels and higher FPS.
