There are 2 sets of textures that come with the download, one 4096x4096 and the other 2048x2048, my rig is as old as my youngest daughter, that will make it 5 in November.

Well, list me as one of those who can't get on the forum site to download any extra skins. It keeps saying my username (jmig) or password is incorrect. Unless I have been removed since I purchased the RV-8 my password and user name are CORRECT.

If I recall correctly (and I could be wrong) this happened once before...like with the RV-8.

Cheezy, you might be happier with the GAS model then. It is a simpler model and so it should be frame friendlier.
 
Just curious... Have you tried Microsoft Flight? Really nice free Stearman you can fly in the free sim.

I know Flight's not a substitute for FSX, but depending on what kind of Stearman experience you're looking for, it might fit the bill, and the only cost is time to download/hard drive space...

i thought flight only came free with that little ultralight plane? i'll have to check it out. free is worth a look, anyhow, but i still think i'll pick up one for fsx.

EDIT: downloaded and installed flight. cant run it because my vid card does not support those shaders, or something like that

I'm also in search of a Stearman. Been searching in places, I think Vertigo Studios have made a great model of the aircraft from what I can see, I don't know how it sounds, flies or anything else BUT we can't forget that a picture is worth a 1000 words. Stearman is a very simple plane, simple cockpit and there is alot of room for HD textures, and allowing the people to fully operate the cockpit, get the taste of the sounds...kinda like A2A simulations hehehe
