Steve Eve's Record Setting Saturn V Launch

In the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest model rocket...

Which, to me, begs the question: at what point does it become a real rocket?

Brian

Awesome. I thought that the larger model rockets went up a lot further than that though. I dunno.

Just for a scale comparison, this rocket was 36 feet tall. A real V-2 was only 46 feet!

Jeff

I'm surprised the Sierra Club didn't file an injunction to prevent this since the rare Peckerheaded Grouse Finch may have been traumatized by such a flight. . .

Nice performance !

:applause:

:jawdrop: I didn't know Estes made them that big. ;)

All kidding aside tho, it was a beautiful flight. The engine booster even touched down and sat on it's tail. It must have wanted a quick turnaround so it could go up again. And... it was almost a water landing. LOL Overall there didn't look to be hardly any major damage.

:medals:
Flight Score: 9.99
Landing Score 9.99
Wow Factor: 9.99
Jealous: H3ll Yes...... that's why the scores are only 9.99 :d LOL

Do it again?
Only if he has DEEP pockets, 1 report said that the motors for that flight cost $13,000. I remember back in the 70's, I considered D engines to be too expensive, at $1 each!
