Steven Myers Fleet 2 for FS2002

Hey Ob,

I was looking at the xml and was wondering what I could change to keep light 6 free for Nick's dust.

What's light 6? Taxi. And you need that for the prop effects. I suppose you could open the V12_exhaust gauge with note pad, change it to use the landing light for the exhaust effects call, then change the exhaust effects from 6 to 5 in the config file.

OBIO

Roger that, light 6 is the taxi light. I'd like to change it to light 7 but I have no idea what light 7 would be. The XML refers to names and not numbers and the names use are not familiar to me. So if anyone knows what name I should use for light 7 in the XML, it would be greatly appreciated. I'll post up any lights and effects I get completed for this craft after I test them out (now that I found a dusty airport LOL).

OBIO could you explain how to convert that ehaust flame zip again, I still get the confused text.

Do like this:

Step 1. download the attachment.
Step 2.
Step 3.
etc!

When I download the attachment it is already opened into a notepad text file, but it isn't readable.
Thanks

When you download it, look at how it's named. Delete the .txt off the end, then double click it to open it

1> Download the attachment

2> Rename the attachment by removing the .txt from the end (this will turn it back into a zip file)

3> Unzip the zip file

4> Place the exhaust effect file into the Effects folder, plane the Reno_FX folder in the Gauge folder, copy and paste the Lights section into the aircraft.cfg file of the Fleet 2.

5> Fire up the sim and enjoy the Fleet 2 with exhaust flames. Do not turn on lights until after the engine is running.

phantom1,....you might have a check in the box where it says "Hide extensions for know file types. Make sure it's unchecked so you can then delete/backspace out the 'txt' statement. It'll then go into a zip format automatically.
Do this: On the top of your computer,...go to Tools...then Folder Options....then View,.....and then scroll down to see if you have a check mark in the 'hide extensions' box. Remove the check mark and you'll be all set. Then remove the 'txt' wording.

That was it Brad. Thanks!

And thanks to Roger and OBIO for the nice exhaust effect.

And thanks OBIO for the recounting of this fine model. This is one that needs to stay in the front of the hangar. I don't know how I forgot about this one......uumm maybe need a bigger hangar front or maybe tie them down out on the ramp so they can be easily seen.

Thanks Ya'll

So I have sucessfully itergrated Obio's great effects in with Nick's prop dust by altering the xml. I was going to post up my adjustments but do not want to "walk" on the others work here. :bump: It really isn't hard, If I can do it, you can too ;). If you are having difficulty getting the two to work together post up and I will wait to hear if is OK for me to show what I did (if this makes any sense here) :173go1:
