• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Sticky: Plum Island Airport Contest

We got a Plum Island Airport contest going on here. The prize will be 3 GB of fresh memory. As you all well know, you can't have enough memory, as what's her face keeps telling me.
Anyway, just publish your best screen shots of Plum Island Airport, either flying or on the ground. No pictures of 747s on the way to Hamburg, after just leaving Plum Island..
Judging will done by Bill Womack and will be announced on the 2<SUP>nd</SUP> of January, 2009. So you got until next year to get your shots in. Judging will be on imagination, composition, creativity and just good looking pictures. Here's a chance to get some memory and show off your handiwork. Last date of submission will be January 1st at twelve o'clock PST.
 
Sounds good. By the way only SOH staff can sticky a post so you'll have to pm or e.mail a member of staff to make this a sticky or maybe one of them will see this request and oblige.
 
If I'm gonna be judging, I'd rather they all be straight, unedited shots. Just to keep apples vs. apples, y'know. This is HD's contest, though. He makes the rules!

I'm shocked that so few people seem interested in this! I guess nobody needs more RAM. Sadly, I'd love to have it, but I guess I'm out of the running. :icon_lol:

Hey Helldiver, can you post the specs on that RAM? Let's give 'em a little more temptation.

Maybe because people don't have the software - like me hehe

I actually do not need any more ram:costumes: My XP can hardly manage what I have in the box.
However, I love to fly (and go) around that airfield and simply to enter competition with some pics taken there.

BTW - I've just been there again and it became urgent:redf:.

I am no expert in memory. These are made by Crucial. One is 1GB and the other is 2GB. They are new, they're green with black chips on them with contact strip on the bottom. They're memory, What else can I say?

I did liked the sepia toned L-4 since I flew Taylorcraft L-2s out of Plum Island in WWII looking for Nazi Subs.

I'm surpised at how few submisions would be sent. Maybe they're saving the best for last.
 
I’ve been interested since it started, but I’ve been trying to come up with something original, and capture the lazy summer afternoon feeling of the place. I don’t know if I’ve succeeded, but here’s my entries!
