Stigler and Brown pack uploaded.

I've uploaded the damaged version in the CFS3 American Skins section. It should be there once the moderators have had a chance to review it.

Yes, as long as you still have the MOS file active (you can just rename it) it will override the Alpha layer effect that creates the appearance of big missing chunks of airplane.

If I could ever get my MOS editor working it would be possible to make a compatible version, but alas no joy after many hours of trying to get it running here.

What error message are you getting? you need to have Managed DX9 running - it's difficult to find. The one at the MS download site won't work. This is the one that does!

If everything is properly installed (Firepower B17F, then Nigel's mod, then my mod) the port elevator should be missing. Is anyone else having trouble getting this to work?

My system had MDX installed, but I think it was a later version, because this one worked just fine. Thank you so much.

It took me a long time because I thought I'd forgotten how to do this properly, but in the end it was just an incompatibility with the 3DS and MOS files that was keeping it from working as I expected. The 3DS needed a careful hex edit in the materials section, and the MOS file had to be removed entirely.

I ended up leaving a bit more port elevator than I wanted because the model included a spar that I couldn't make go away, and it looked better to have at least a stub left covering it.

I made the recommanded downloads _.M3D and _t.dds files added but I got a skin with black areas without any transparency where the missing parts should be. Tried deleething the mos file but it got only worst :the skin came out without any missing parts or holes.

Running XP, a ASUS video card 512 meg..

I haven't deleted or renamed the .t-mos file..

This Looks GREAT from all angles..
Thanks Nigel and Andy for this beautiful piece of work..
BRAVO!!
And there is much rejoicing!!

Finally got it wrigt; there was a problem in the M3D naming convention, also deleted the mos file.:jump:

Yes, the mos file is only an issue if someone starts shooting at the plane and it takes some damage. That will over-rule the alpha layers holes in the main texture and make the missing parts reappear.
