• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

The primary problem I have is with the Theater selector not functioning reliably, and that’s most likely a result of Win 7. The scripts that are provided do not complete properly because they cannot see all of the needed files, even after I point them at the proper file path locations for my specific set-up. I’ve been through them in detail, and they are not wrong, they just don’t execute properly. Since there is no logic to fix in their programming, I decided to install 7 dedicated theaters by hand to avoid the Win 7 conflicts. In doing that I found a number of issues with file attributes, and security permissions, along with files permanently “in use” by the system that could not be modified without a reboot in the middle. I was successful with the three most complete theaters; Pearl, Wake, and Midway. AVG would get into the game, but the player's aircraft was frozen in the sky. Sino would only start if I disabled the UI animations (no 3D display, but working menu system), but as soon as you tried to go into the game it crashed. Evidently something is wrong with a 3D object, or the terrain data. I gave up on the rest of the project without trying PNG and Philippines.
 
running win 7 64 bit.It seems to run every other sim flawless. Will just play what i can and quit RS and the headaches.
