FSX started beeping at me! Whenever I click an aircraft thumbnail on the aircraft selection menu, I get this little bell tone. It's the same "ding" that Windows gives you when it needs you to respond to a pop up message, and you click on something else. I can still select an aircraft, I just get that annoying little "ding". It's fairly new, but I can't remember exacly when it started, so I can't attribute it to an addon, or perhaps something else I did on my computer.

Any of you guys have an idea why it's beeping at me, and how I can fix it?

It sounds to me like your windows sound files have changed.

Take a look under control panel/sound/sounds and see what you have there. You should be able to hear the individual sound files and re-set to default.

FSX is just swearing at you and windows' automatic censorprogram kicks in :173go1:

LOL! Too many addons? :)

Well, the Windows sound files haven't changed, as far as I can tell. I didn find the name of the sound: Windows Ding.wav. I'm wondering if FSX got corrupted somehow. I have been getting the BSOD occationally.

Me too. Just popped up one day. Funny thing was, when I shut down the computer the night before, it wasn't there. Next day, started it up and when I ran FSX, there it was??? Curious if it's a VISTA only thing or if those with XP have the same issue.

Sounds like an aircraft virus to me. ;) Take 2 asprins and call MS in the morning. :costumes"

Have you done an update lately?

perhaps the latest update has triggered one of the default window options for clicking a selection?

Update? Well, Vista has done a few automatic updates. I haven't really been paying attention, though. As far as FSX, I have acceleration, but have since day 1. Although I contunually "update" with addons ...
