I never had time to visit the Sinsheim Techinik Museum, but I've been to it's sister museum in Speyer, just down the road. It too is a wonderful stop with it's emphasis on aviation.

Nope. I've seen display planes that are perched on three "short sticks", one at each landing gear, such that it looks like it's on it's wheels, but there is really no weight on the tires, so no worries about tire pressure. And you almost don't notice the mounting points unless you're really looking. They put planes on tall sticks because they think it looks "cool", like it's "flying", I guess. I just don't like it. Others disagree. Life would be boring if we all agreed.
